Within the last twelve months, since being a proud owner of a 400i, I have parked the car unattended three times only. This was one time too much! A stupid guy has damaged my front bumper in a parking lot last Saturday. So far we could not find a new one as replacement in the market. Is anyone of the Fchatters experienced in repairing the bumper? It has no visible cracks, but needs bending back to the original shape. Since it is painted it should be possible to get it cosmetically right once the shape is back to original.
The alternative would be to search for a used part.

Bummer about the bump. It looks like a job that "paintless dent removal" people could fix quite easily. Be thankful your indicators didn't get smashed!

All my attempts at repairing my bent front bumper (fender) failed. In the end I got a (very reasonably priced) fibreglass replacement from Eurospares, which, once painted looks exactly like the original.

    Keeping the Faith,

    Ray.

thanks Preston and Ray for your input. The bumper from ebay may be the quickest and simplest solution however the insurance of the driver who caused tha damage must agree to the costs before my workshop can get active.

The car is repaired! My Ferrari workshop has found a new bumper at http://www.italparts.de which was available within two weeks or so. The insurance company who has to pay was of course not very happy with the costs. The workshop even convinced them to agree to pay for a new moulding although I would have accepted to straighten the damaged one. I wonder how long I will have to wait for it. Since the bumper is painted like the car (sivler) one does not even notice that the moulding is (temporarily) missing.
