    Hey guys,
Just wanted to share a neat and inexpensive solution to messed up shift knobs on newer Ferraris. The knobs are aluminum, with a clear coat on them. As they wear, the clear coat starts to crack and peel. Once this happens you must strip it off, then either recoat it, or constantly polish it with metal polish.

Here's the inexpensive, and (relatively) permanent solution. Buy the Hill Engineering replacement. $37 from Ricambi America! This one is also aluminum, but has been hard chrome plated for superior durability and scratch resistance.

The only negative I can find, is the engraving is slightly wider than the stock one, and it has a small stub on the base, that the original one did not have.

Other than putting them side by side, no one would know.
I have no financial incentive to this post, just a happy customer!

    Regards,
    Dave

For 37 bones it'd almost make sense to buy one in order to preserve the OEM one.

Does anybody know what the weight difference is between the stock knob and one of these?

I did not weigh them, but while swapping them, they appeared the same. Since they are the same size, and same material (aluminum), there should be little appreciable difference, aside from the small "base" on the Hill version....which might add a few grams.

BTW, they do offer a version in 50mm versus the stock 47mm, which being slightly larger, would be a hair heavier as well...if that is what you are after. If you want lighter, they make them out of titanium as well. (mucho dinero!)
