One of my employees needs to buy a car pretty bad. However, he can't make up his mind, and won't listen to me. I narrowed it down to these 3 for him. Basically he needs some realiable transportation. He is a single dad, and has a 7 year old, that he has to take to school back and forth. Appreciate the help. I'd go with the Legend. It has had lots of recent maintenence, it is a four door, and it looks like it is in great cosmetic shape. Of course, if he won't listen to you, why does it matter?
It is clearly at the top of the food chain among the cars you posted. The intergra would simply be "transport", as would the Accord. The legend, however, is actually a great car. It is an auto, though, isn't it?
The legend is an auto with 170K miles, which is his biggest worry. Accord is 5 speed with 115K miles. Integra is 5 speed with 113K miles.
Legend, no question. My mother had one when I was young. She sold it to my uncle who put over 300k miles on it. Boy I can tell you some funny stories about that car.... I would have to say to drive the legend and the Honda Accord. If the legend drives poorly and looks as to need a bit of work and the Accord does not, then you should have an accord on the accord. (yes that is a horrible joke )
Ryan I would consider selling mine for a price !! It will walk a Sentra with an Automatic and mother. I have modified mine with no front plate.
Legend. Best car Acura has ever made. The only Acura ever that truely could compete with Lexus (at the time) and the other lux. makers. Tranny has historicaly been a sore spot for Acura/Honda, but I haven't heard of any problems with the Legend though.
I wouldn't go that far. I mean don't get me wrong, I loved that Legend quite a bit...many fond memories from when I was a child are in that car...but it doesnt compare to the Acura I had up until about a year ago... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ryan: I apologize. I was only fooling around about selling the Corolla. I knew it was a serious post. Car has 107K miles. It runs perfectly. I am going to have to wait along time. - until the car dies. It is pointless to sell a good car with hi miles.
The legend is the better car. However, it does has quite a bit more mileage. The Civic, while it has lower mileage, isn't the car the legend is. I'd go with the legend, if the prices are similar. Art
Tell him to look at the Subaru SVX. They retailed for around 37-38, got very good reviews and are now trading as low as $2000. I owned one and was very happy with it. . . except for the penny stock dot.com crash style loss I took when I sold it.
After you said that, I searched. In a 50 mile radius, there are 5 cars. Average price is 8913$. The lowest was 5500, and highest around 10K.
Here in Canada the Integra has a better resale in the marketplace among the ricer crowd and a broader mass market appeal at the end of the day. I'll assume it's the same where you are. Ask him this question......... "If you drive 15K miles a year and plan to keep the car three years..........what would you rather try to sell down the line..........an Integra with 158K miles or a Legend with 215K miles ? It's doubtful that the phone would even ring on the Legend at that point.....which is why it is for sale now.
Very good points KDS. Also I am not sure, if he can afford (maintenance) if something goes wrong with the auto tranny on the Legend. I thought the accord coupe is a good buy, with a manual and 115K miles, and lady owned.
If this guy is a good employee, why don't you buy a car for him. It seems like peanuts if you have a company, it's tax deductible and a great loyalty generator. If he's not a good employee, why bother with this?
Rijk, That is what I am doing. This will be a early Xmas gift for him. However, I didn't want to say that initially, as that wasn't necessary. He is a great guy, and the least I could do, granted what he and his family had to go through lately. I want to give him a car he can afford to maintain.
Yo, money doesn't go on trees for me, bro But if you are willing to donate, I will make sure the check goes to him.
