Reports: Dan Marino acknowledges affair, love child | News - Home

According to The New York Post, Dolphins great, Dan Marino, acknowledges having an affair with a former co-worker. The paper claims their relationship produced a child in 2005, a girl named Chloe.

The Post broke the story early Thursday morning.

Marino reportedly met a production assistant, Donna Savattere, at CBS Sports' Manhattan Studio in 2003. The former 'Fin is affiliated with CBS as a pregame analyst.

In 2005, Savattere gave birth to their daughter, a girl named Chloe.

At that time, Marino was married to his wife, Claire, for 20 years. They have six children.

“This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then,” Dan Marino reportedly said in a written statement to The New York Post. “We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved. My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together. And we continue to be a strong and loving family.”

The Post reports that Marino paid Savattere millions of dollars for Chole's care.

    Savattere has since remarried.

Why do they call these kids "love" children when that is about as far from the truth as it can get?

Who cares? It is between him, his wife, the baby momma and the child. None of any of our business especially since he is paying for the care and well being of the child.

A huge +1 on this one. Same thing with the whole Tiger Woods and his women sorry - not our business. Looking up to sports stars as heroes ended when Stan the man Musial passed away a couple of weeks ago.

Little OT but how can one state (Missouri) have such a disparity in baseball teams?

Extend that to football too. Rams come to St. Louis and within a handful of years go from being a doormat to winning a Superbowl and being one of the most dominant offensive teams in recent memory. Chiefs haven't played in a Superbowl in most of our lifetimes. Their best shot was 20 years ago under a legendary QB they got from San Francisco. Since then, they have had seasons where they had great records but could never, ever get to the AFC championship game.

The state is somewhat divided among Chiefs fans and Rams fans. I choose not to take sides as I generally do not care about either. Childhood in Wisconsin means lifelong Packer fan win or lose.

Once again, why should we care. Arnold is paying for the child so it is again between him, Maria, the housekeeper and the child.

The point is it isn't football news or news of any kind, it is gossip. PERIOD.
