I just bought my 1980 308 GTS (Euro) and also have owned a 1997 BMW 840Ci for five years. The difference in size is remarkable. The 308 is inches shorter in length, width and height. The difference in driving feel is also remarkable. The 308 handles (obviously) much better than the 840Ci although I believe the BMW is faster to 60mph, at least until I get the 308 tuned. The 840Ci is quieter, smoother and a nice cruiser with a much higher top end (186mph)...which is mostly useless. The 308 is visceral, sings a song when driven and is just like a sports car should be. I'm glad I have both, they offer quite a contrast in functionality.

The pic is from a meeting with my BMW 8 Series mates in Long Beach, CA. The Ferrari looks tiny in comparison and the BMW is not that large. Image Unavailable, Please Login
