Decided to leave Manhattan just after 12 with what? 1 1/2" snow? (got another parking ticket even in the snow) the snow was wicked. finally got to Berganfield at 1:00am with about 2" of snow. It was kind of neat being the only car on the NJ TPK. Finally made it to Wayne at 2:00am. Floored it only to make it 1/2 way up my driveway. we've got about 4" of snow so far. ANd it's wicked slick. Guess I'll work from home tomorrow Let me know how you other non-urbanites did. Kenny? Lupe? Pchop? Do Vespas have snow tires Noto?
That's crazy mad Clyde - at least it's good to hear your back home safe and sound with the snowy so forths. I'm here in Manhattan and the views from my windows are pretty snowy.
Glad to see ya made it home safe. Looking out the window and it's still coming down. This **** ain't stoppin'...till the late morn at least!
I'm upstate for the long weekend. Saturday and Sunday were great driving days. I drove more than 300 miles. Now we are all snowed in, and it's still snowing. Later today I'll post some pics.
I was already up & out shoveling the driveway. Just waiting for the plow (Plow???) to go by & re-burry my driveway in. Time to sit back, enjoy a cup of coffee & read some f-chat
Picked up my friend from Newark airport @11pm. Got to New Brunswick around 12:30am. Car got stuck going up a hill near his house (then it just start sliding backwards and sideways). Then I had to drive back to Princeton. Encountered a few crazy SUVs (and one SOB Cadillac) on Rt1. Finally made it safely home @1:45am. Snow sucks.
So I left the apartment at 6:30 as usual for my drive to da Jerz. 2nd Ave was fine but the side streets were sh^t. Thank god it's a holiday and no one is on the road. Get to the office this morning and needless to say had some fun parking the car (i think the plow guys thought who the hell is this nutcase?) Safe travels this morning fellas if you're on the road. Cyle, enjoy the coffee
The treacherous trip from my apartment to the deli next door to get some coffee too almost twice as long as normal. Thank god for shoes! I'm going back to sleep now...
I took the Vespa home last night. Was crazy, and I probably shouldn't have, but I made it home in one piece. I came close to taking a big digger in the middle of the huge intersection on 65th/Broadway/Columbus on the way home, but somehow managed to pull out of it alive. I wish I had that one on tape, bc the Vespa was sliding all over the place - I was trying to slow down with the brakes, shifting gears and propping the bike up with my feet while I was fully crossed up in a full 20mph slide... with oncoming traffic from Broadway!
Best comment yet. I decided to take off today. Good thing. Coming home on the LIE friday night, a pot hole took out TWO of my Pirelli snowsports. I put the summer tires back on, so I wouldn't be going anywhere with those tires in this stuff anyway.
been in bed the past few days in preperation for the snow, now today i am going to wether the storm from under my blankets as well. Help i am running out of movies! thank god for the Rocky Marathon on the WB!
Damn you Emil!!! So I've been here since 7 AM, I think the majority of the country has taken today off. F-this, I'm heading back to the city at 11!!! headin to Vegas tonight for the week boys, for busienss, but will find time for the tables, wish me luck!
Everyone else has off, except for us West Chester Students. It doesn't matter that its presidents day or that it snowed and we are expecting icy rain. To show them how pissed off I am I slept through my first class.
In one hour we go skying at Hunter. The Cayenne Turbo is great for this weather. The 456 stays in the shed. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
LOL. Well as usual I was wrong, turns out there was a 2 hour delay this morning and my class was cancelled.
Keep the faith that Spring will be here soon!!!!!! Before you know it, we will be making plans for 4th of July weekend!!!!
Left city at midnight after having a great time with you guys, in the M3. City was ok cuz lots of cars already rolling on the road surface, out of midtown term tunnel it was a b1tch, it snowed more on LI i think, prolly a good 2 inch of fresh soft snow, I was doing around 35mph in the middle lane, made home no problem. What I really did not understand is, 95% of the cars that should not have problem in snow, like the SUV's, Vans, FWD cars, were driving SLOWER than I was, I would think they can easiy do like 65mph.
