Really nice guy , very likeable , not sure what all the fuss is about him , has been driving very badly the last couple of years .
To me he kind of comes off as the jerk from High School who never changed. He obviously has enough skill and results to keep an F1 seat this long. I am looking forward to him being past tense. I prefer the new guard folks like Max, LeClerc, Sainz, Russell.
Yeah, going from 160-30 in a pack of 20 cars, in the rain, on cold tires, into a chicane with little to no visibility. He really is overrated. Where were you today on the grid?? Oh that’s right you were on your couch. You try driving one of those cars and tell me if you still think he’s overrated.
Well said - not a great thread overall. He apologized unlike others in the past. Drivers make mistakes. We expect perfection. Our expectations are mis-aligned completely at times as fans. I do it.
The bump against Carlos was simply a racing incident. I do not knock Ricciardo for the incident at all. The fact he made zero progress all race is unbelievably bad. One of the worst drives Ive seen. That supports an argument that he is perhaps overrated.
World turns. The drivers are much easier than we are at moving on and forgiving ..........a lesson for us as fans.
Class act. Wasn't his fault, wasn't Sainz' either. Sainz gave room, Ric did the same, but in doing so clipped the kerb and it launched him into Sainz. **** happens, especially considering that this weekend Mclaren finally appeared competitive.
Yesterday was a cock up on slippery surface, it happens, but Ricciardo has made dirty moves and careless dive bombs in the past, check the records. We use to forget that because he's all smiles, but as a driver he can be SOB. Why he's gone backwards since he got to McLaren is a mistery to me. At Red Bull and Renault he delivered. If I were him, I'd start looking for a seat at Indycar, just in case.
It’s possible to do the right thing and still be overrated as a driver. Character and talent are two different things.
I think that Danny still has it. I don't think that he realized that Lando is such a talented driver. Still early days, I expect to see more podium finishes and perhaps a win or two by the Mclaren boys. BTW did anyone notice the top three finishers sniggering in the lounge at Lewis's 14th place?
This will be a thread hijacker, but I didn't hear them talking about Lewis, I only saw them talking about Charles. What did they say?
Excuse the poor quality, only one I could find quickly...around the 2.10 mark they start talking about Lewis (or that group, anyways). A lot of meme's went about within minutes... F1 COOLDOWN ROOM, IMOLA GP 2022 THEY BROUGHT IT BACK, Watch till the end - YouTube
I think Mac put him on hards and that obviously was the wrong tire as he made no progress even on the backmarkers.
