I don't think that's fair. Having competition from Max has lifted Dan's game and the 2016 results prove it. Dan is the more considered and consistent driver, Max takes bigger risks and has achieved what he wanted - other drivers are afraid to tangle with him. It's a good combination for RB. Unfortunately, F1 is 90% about the car and my gut feel is that Merc have sand-bagged all year with their engine and will have an even bigger advantage in 2017 with the new high downforce / high drag cars. It beggars belief that we're moving to cars that will be even harder to follow closely and with less braking distance for corners - the only overtakes will be under DRS or accelerating out of slow corners. Just look how easily Nico out dragged Max from the corner exit on Sunday, says it all for 2017 I fear.
that's what Schumi would have done - and we all venerate him. In fact, had MS been in Nico's position, he would simply have locked a wheel and rammed LH off in turn 1. Both cars out, WDC for MS, "my brakes failed" as an excuse.
Ask Hill or Villeneuve. I'm sure Hamilton wanted to do that too but couldn't risk taking himself out. I don't see anything wrong with backing Rosberg back - it was his only chance at winning the WDC; he needed to be a bit more magnanimous afterwards though as he just looked like a sore loser.
"Could" ruin and sink his career by doing that, ask Alonso, bit of a lucky draw going to Ferrari Alas, running a Ferrari midfield is perhaps enough, and maybe not a bad thing?? The first thing DR needs to do is smash his team mate in 17', that's always job # 1 FORZA FERRARI, never will we turn our back on TeamRed!
He's too slow anyway. Or maybe we could put him in with Wes - after all Wes showed Shumi how to park at Monaco.
All this talk of RB having a great car for next season. Reckon Mercedes won't have a better car next year either? I predict next season to be the same as this season. Hopefully Ferrari give Dan and Max some competition next season at least.
Hahah inner circle, you have to laugh at some of the inane posts some people type, ........ There might be some "inside" jokes (mostly at poor Wes' and my expense) but I don't think anyone here has ever stopped anyone posting whatever they like. I have heard that some other parts of the forum are scared to post here fearing the Aussie berating we give each other At least we're not like the sook section , otherwise known as the F1 big girl's blouse section
I still have no idea where that torch came from There was a battery guy turn up a few weeks earlier to swap the battery over ..........................
We won't know how the cars compare until next year but IMHO Dan's cool head may just be enough for him to outdo Max - think Prost Vs Senna. Mad Max may well flame and burn in a similar manner...
Good points. I think Dan will rise to the challenge, but unfortunately the team is behind Max ... so unless Dan wants to become another Webber, he needs to start talking to other teams. Pete
That's insane. I thought the move was meant to be more mechanical grip and less aero? I didn't know about the new rules for 2017. Not me. He always was a cheat. And Ferrari got what it deserved in 1999, by denying Irvine wins with team orders, it cost them the constructor's championship.
Ferrari didn't want Irvine to be their first world champion for 20 years. He was the epitome of a no. 2 driver! Had Schumacher not broken his leg at Silverstone he would have won the championship.
True, but he would have been WDC without team orders, had he not broken his leg. Getting races handed to you isn't winning.
