Ich sag danke schoen, werden wir uns wiedersehn? Tomorrow (Saturday) is Ferris Bueller night at the Wrigley Stadium: They're gonna show the movie on multiple screens and will attempt at a world record in the biggest group ever assembled singing Danke schoen. And where is the beef, aka Ferrari content? Rumors have it that a certain 250 GTO-R will be parked at Wrigley...
Congrats to Haley and Chelle for landing this unique gig with Groupon: the 250 GTO-R was proudly displayed in front of Wrigley with lots and lots Ferris Bueller fans posing with it. Right now they are watching the movie in the stadium. Tomorrow I'll post some pics.
Here are a few photos I took. I am very glad I went. It was fun spending time with Haley and Chelle. They are such good people. The crowd was over 8000 and everyone had so much fun around the car. I'm sure the car is being posted all over the Internet today from all the people taking pictures. great shots! thanks for posting! I bet 300+ people sat in the car to get a pic.. lol.. one guy actually asked if he could get his pic laying across the hood.. glad he asked rather than just climbing on !
Josh, it's our replica (fitting since most shots of the one in the movie were a replica too) you can PM or e-mail me any questions, or, as you're local you're free to come over and see it, go for a ride, etc..
Generally this is simple enough to change in Mac OS X it is in the system preference within the 'International' pane. In Windows XP, go to the control panel, open the regional and language options. From there choose the tab "languages" and there click the "details..." button. Here, if the German keyboard setting is not installed already (i.e. appears in the list), click "add" and install it. Then in the task bar, next to the clock, you should see a little button saying "EN", it shows your keyboard setting. Click it and choose German (Deutsch, DE). Hey Chelle & Haley, when are we having dinner together again? Skip P.S. As usual the GTO-R looks great!!
Just saw this on Yahoo!: http://news.yahoo.com/ferris-bueller-returns-wrigley-field-022605536.html?bouchon=602,il
Andreas, the guy in the pic with Haley was Ronnie Woo Woo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronnie_Woo_Woo he's a local celeb from that link.. found a pic on yahoo.. http://news.yahoo.com/photos/kristin-draus-left-jackie-gronski-pose-cutout-ferris-photo-043548008.html then this - got to pic #4.. the marquee, the lookalikes, and the replica.. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/02/ferris-bueller-returns-to_n_991148.html#s383738 I was looking at some videos of the event inside..there are some that the car is in, but this one I have share, from inside, the Groupon guy on stage, before the movie started was thanking all the people he needed to thank.. He didn't thank us for bringing the car and letting people sit in it for pictures.. he thanked Ferrari for supplying it lol.. Ferrari did inspire it's creation.. so they do deserve a lot of credit In the video below, about a minute in he thanked Ferrari and said "Ferrari, we wanna thank Ferrari, they brought that amazing car. Did you sit in it? Some of you sat in it, that's kewl.. I feel like we're always thanking Ferrari in every event we do .. it's high class like that" So you're welcome Ferrari .. hopefully we generated some good will. So I guess sometimes a "crappy replica" can give a few thousand people a good impression of Ferrari huh? Not to mention all the people who grew up wanting one when the replica in the movie was their only exposure to Ferrari [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRFxxjcPTxo&feature=related[/ame]
Thanks Skip, we should do that soon Prolly best if you an Haley work out when, I have open schedule, but she doesn't, and I'm sure you have things to do too
Good stuff. Think about all the endless debates you, I and everybody else on here had/has about Ferrari replicas. You just added another facette to the image. Very pfunny. Ferrari always had and has a tough stand against replicas yet this movie and the early versions of Miami Vice were all based on replicas. Plus all the other movies that came afterwards using replicas as well.
