Gents. With a view to protecting the dash leather, I installed a dash cover. It secures to the dash with 1" adhesive Velcro strips which stick directly onto the leather. Got to worrying. Does anyone have any experience / thoughts on whether or not adhesive will damage the leather finish? If it does then I am causing what I'm trying to prevent. Thanks.

I bought my TR that had the same type of dash cover that you are referring. It was installed by the prior owner. Upon taking the cover and Velcro strips off, I would not recommend sticking anything to the leather dash. The adhesive discolored the dash. Seems that the adhesive chemicals soaked into the leather and is now darker than the rest of the dash. Also when pulling off the adhesive, it pulled off a bit of the leather beneath it. I did heat up the adhesive, but I guess not enough. I ended up replacing parts of the dash, so in the end it did not matter.

A no-no. Take the Velcro strips off. Put a sun shade in windshield when not driving. Keep it protected with UV blocking conditioner. Also can have windshield clear tinted with high performance ceramic tint that repels heat and UV protection.

+1 on ceramic tint on windshield. I ended up doing this after repairing my dash.

Wow, looks like the PO was trying to cover his dash with velcro. I have one of the form fitting dash covers and it stays in place without any help from something below unless I am really getting on it. I like the cover but would never put anything with glue to hold it down. I have also used the special windshield tint on another one of my vehicles and it works well but I did have a little reduction in clearity.

I don’t think 303 is for leather... only plastic, rubber, vinyl etc
