    Could anybody take a look at the somewhat hidden light under the edge of the dash that lights up the switch panel? Probably only on later Dinos E-series. I want to know if the two fasteners visible are phillips or slotted
    screws. The bulb was originally green!

    Here is a pic I lifted from the search forum about the dash light on the 246. It is showing a green bulb.

    ... and not to mention Daytonas, which were built during same "period", also feature(d) quite a few Philips head screws.

    I stand corrected;
    There is phillips screws for the turn signals/parking lights the only ones I found!
    The dash light I was wrong it is a green bulb no green lens, I can see. The screws are slotted.

    Thanks for the replies. That original bulb gets very hot so I opted for a LED filament style festoon bulb that barely gets warm. Couldn't find one in green so I will have to try to dye it or wrap it with some translucent green tape.

    Not familiar with those specifically, but several exterior and interior fixtures/trim items seem to have featured them.

    If you're talking about the "Instrument Illumination Rheostat", #24 on page 5 of the US owners' manual, I found one at DinoParts. A Google search will provide more than one seller.

    Now that I've looked at the pictures above, that probably isn't what you were referring to. I've crawled all over and under my Dino and don't remember seeing anything like the pictures, (my care is a European model). Where is this located?

    I guessing these must be a late E series thing. No glass cover or provision for one on my original but you can't touch the bulb even if you wanted to once it is installed. I would go with a led festoon filament bulb that puts out very little heat. The old school bulb gets quite hot and is tucked in pretty close to the fiberglass dash shell.

    Wrong, look at your Carello lights.
    Units bought in by Ferrari may have phillips by that outside supplier.
    Generally you are correct, Pininfarina used phillips, Scaglietty used raised head slotted

    What racerboy9 is showing you (p/n 40095101) is actually a dash light for the 308gt4's. These lights mount on the underside of the dash pod and shine light onto the face of the instruments. My 1970 Dodge Challenger had a similar setup.

    Not sure about the Dinos but I have seen festoon bulbs where the glass is actually green. I wanted a LED filament style festoon bulb which I couldn't find in green so I got some green lens sheet to wrap it.
