The lever that links the open/close wheel to the flap is missing/broken. Has anyone figured out a fix for this? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just a thought but you might try the model airplane industry. They have mountains of servos and servo arms. Many moons ago I mounted 2 such servos and arms to open & close my Chrysler minivan rear corner windows. In fact I was a a little ahead of the Chrysler debut of their rear window motor drives. LOL!!!
You will probably have to custom make one, can be done in aluminium. Probably the only way to attach it to the butterfly shaft is to drill a 1.6 mm axial hole in the butterfly shaft, tap it to M2, and attach the arm, including a spacer, with a long M2 screw (and apply some epoxy to the treads). You can also use a thin screw to act as a short pin to engage the thumb wheel arm slot. Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you can get one from the other side vent, get it scanned and 3D printed. Easy but expensive Or draw one in CAD en get it 3D printed. Difficult but very cheap.
If you like to go the option servo arms, look at "Hobbyking" department Servo Accessories. Maybe you find something you can adapt/use.
servo arms from hobby shop was the plan as im dead sure 1 could be made to work. well until I found 2 on ebay that is. I got a spare now too.
Did you notice someone cut the down tube that fits into the air distribution pipe? Compare it to Miro's. I noticed when I was putting it back in, I bought a used rear section (like what Miro posted) for the lever arm and compared them and was like wtf. Apparently someone could not figure out how to get the unit back in the dash and into the rubber grommet so they cut it. Yes it tricky but not THAT tricky. Insert an inward angle and twist in it goes. Also the tabs are broken except 1. So while the unit is de-stickied I will have to buy all new ones to have it corrected it does not snap in the dash correctly. While my car is very nice... going though it its amazing the amount of stupid stuff that got done half arse. I never would have guess before buying a ferrari that work would get done half arse given the rates.
Join the club. The things i found on my 348, during DIY major service, not to believe. Silicone everywhere, belts to short, chain tensioner bended,.....The car was last time serviced in a very high end Ferrari dealership in London. Believe me, a Ford, a Lada or a Ferrari dealership (besides the rates !) work in just the same way.Fast, cheap and making the max on money. A friend of mine works in a car supplier shop. He told me the big local Ferrari dealership used to buy from him the cheapest from the cheapest Chinese ( not even quality Bosch wipers or so) windscreen wipers by the box. ! He thinks they sold one wiper for the price of the complete box. lol Don't believe the hype. Do it yourself or you will get ripped of.
