    Hey

Since it was not raining and I was going to drive 100 miles north to Portland today, I got my new 365 out. I was just about ready to put my daughter in the back and realized there are no seat belts back there. My wife will not let me put kids back there without a belt on them, so we had to take her Lexus LS Huge. Question is, were there belts back there originally or not? If not it looks like a tight fit around the cushions, so has anyone installed belts back there successfully without it looking like crap?

Check and see if the 400 s had rear belts. Maybe you can find some from a salvage car. I am sure they would look fine. May have to get creative if the wife wants shoulder harnesses. Haven't got that far on mine. You could go cheap out of JC Whitney and tuck them between the seats when not in use. Good luck.

My 1980 400i has rear seatbelts - I've used the car for runs to the daycare with my two daughters.

Try Juliano's for seatbelts. Lots of color combinations and 3 point harneses. http://www.julianos.com/seat_belts.html

I used their 3 point belts in my 1934 Ford coupe. Had to build a structure to mount the shoulder belt.

My 84 400iA has 3 point belts in the back. If it was here I'd go look at how they are mounted, unfortunately I'm doing a garage project and it's in a friends warehouse at the moment.

My '84 400i has 3-point belts as mentioned by Al. It appears to me they were added as part of the gray market import procedure. (I'm sure Dave Stacey will tell us all if this is correct or not.) If they can do it, you can do it. The mounting bracket for the strap does push in on one of my seat cushions but I only saw that issue when I removed the cushions to do another job.

Frankly I don't know about the 365 series. I believe the 400/400i/412 series all had factory installed rear seatbelts.

Well, I am going to take the rear seats out. Hopefully there are established mounts there already. Sounds like there should be at least for a lap belt.

my car (17291) has rear lap belts. Have the same issue with Mamasito. Attachment points are under seat which is bolted into place on the bottom front. Good Luck. attached is a catoon I came up with the first time I put the car seat in the back of the GT/4.

I've got a used set out of my 412, if they will fit? I can also take pictures of the attachment parts as my interior is out.
