Dave and Norbert's excellent roadside adventure

Hi everyone,
Norbert and I made it safely to our destinations. Made it to Morgantown, West Virginia by late afternoon on Friday. The staff of the local Ramada allowed us to park our cars under the veranda. We hit some rain after Columbus which followed us all the way to Morgantown.
We left Morgantown the next AM. Norbert and I split up our route near Frederick, Maryland. Norbert went on to Baltimore, and I turned South to the Tidewater area (east of Richmond, Va.)
All has been going well. No damage to the the car at all. I spent the day detailing and giving rides. Will be leaving on Wed. for FCA Nationals.
Norbert called this evening and reported he made it to Baltimore safely.

Sweet guys!
an inspiration to us all!

 

Hi Everyone.
Norbert & I arrived safely in Chicago 11:30 PM last night. We started the day leaving Washington DC at 8:15 AM. We logged 780 miles for the day! Norbert really is an inspiration. He really holds up well driving his 308 QV on long endurance drives.

The total mileage on my Boxer for this trip was 2,290 miles. This was a good test to see how reliable the car would be since the mileage is ultra low. The odometer now reads 14,315 kilometers (8,895 miles). I had a minor mechanical glitch which I took care of at the hotel.

During my last night's stay at my Mom's. I took her out for dinner at her favorite Italian restaurant in the Boxer. She just turned 80 years young.

On wednesday morning I left for Washington DC for FCA Nationals. I heard that 150 Ferraris showed for the event. The field concours was held at "The Meadows" which is used for horse shows. The weather was boiling hot that day, with humidity to match. 10 Boxers were entered in the BB class and were judged by a team lead by Dick Fritz. We had only 8 BB's at Indy last year. None the less, my Boxer brought home a Platinum award (95+ Points). I'm really thrilled with the results.

The following day was a 90 mile rally through the Virginia country side. I stopped to look at a 1809 mill, then finished the route. This was my first rally so driving safe was a higher priority than trying to break any speed records. The rally ended at a restoration shop with an excellent lunch buffet.
