Do you happen to know what the parking situation is like at the stereo shop, if people drive their Ferraris?

It "sounds" like an interesting event and I'm thinking about driving over from Seattle to check it out.

Gary agreed, this could be fun drive out there; check out the audio/theater gear, then head over to the pub for lunch. I was talking to Dr. Byron Faber about this today...

    Who else is in???

My thought was we meet at Southcenter around 9:30am, departing at 10am. That should put us in Silverdale around 11am. We can meet at the stereo shop, look at all the cool stuff, then go get lunch around 12:00pm at the pub. Should put everyone on the road around 1:30pm for home, or check out the Bremerton Race Track, and see if anything is going on there...

I'm going to try to meet up with you in Silverdale. Just a heads up though......When you head this way be careful!! I've been driving Hwy 16 all week, and WSP has been hitting it hard. Watch out for corners and hills especially, they're using lasers.

This weekend is the Grey Chevrolet drags/carshow/swapmeet at the raceway. Check here for info http://www.bremertonraceway.com/

Sorry, only Stan Gordon and I met at Southcenter. Neither of us had a camera. We met Bryron Faber, Jdubbya and another guy (forgot his name)...then went to lunch and saw George (355).

Those of you afraid of the weather REALLY missed out on a nice drive! The weather was great the whole day. Had the top off even. It sprinkled while on the ferry returning (no problem with low tide) then stoppped when we arrived in Seattle! How about that? :)

BTW, Dave Wilson is quite a Ferrari fan, he has a 99 550 Maranello, and has owned several others.

Very nice crew there at Nuts About Hi-Fi, would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. They are full service in both car audio and home audio covering pretty much from mid line right up to the most expensive, esoteric stuff out there. Quite impressive array of equipment selection.

Oh Man!!! I had my camera with me and completely forgot about it. I really should have snapped some pics of those speakers, at $125K a pair I'm not likely to be buying a set soon. Nice colletction of Ferrari's in the parking lot too (well, five anyway). Thanks for the invite Bill, I wish I could have stayed to hear them!!

It was nice to meet you Dave and Stan and Bill, and good to see you again Byron!! Sorry I didn't have time to go for lunch. Did you make it back to actually hear the speakers?

That's what I said. They were very beautiful, (painted in Ferrari Grigio Titanio of course) and I really wanted to hear them but had to leave before they were done setting them up.

    Check them out here: http://www.soundstagelive.com/factorytours/wilson_x2/

Funny you said that. I am not much of a connoisseur but my older brother (not the celebrity) is, he has been into high end audio for decades. I think he had a pair of Apogee speakers that cost like $50K. I remember making the same comment that I would like to hear it cranked up. And he actually said that the sweetness of the speakers is not when it is cranked up, but how true and clear the sound is when it is at very low level.

Also, another thing i noticed that was quite impressive was that when he got the music going, you cannot "tell" it is coming from the speakers at all. It is just.... "there". Amazing.

But I'd rather have a Ferrari than a pair of top end speakers. A Tubi can sound almost as nice.

That's actually what it says in the article I referenced above about these speakers as well. I'll have to see if they were going to leave them at Nuts About Hi-Fi for a while.

By the way Bill if you see this welcome to F-chat!

Here's an interesting post (audio chat forum) by a person who actually took out a 2nd mortgage on his house to buy a pair of those Wilson speakers!

    http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/speakers/messages/162285.html

Sounds like he is extremely happy with his purchase. Personally, I would rather buy a Daytona Coupe for about the same $$, than a pair of speakers.

PS: Do you like good bass response from your living room stereo system?? Check out these bargain speakers ($12K+) on eBay. Talk about BIG horns.
