Attractive in that photo, but I don't think she's aged that well. Saw her on TV a little while ago and I was surprised.
Is the time coming nearer that someone will file a complaint with equal opportunities to allow other ferraris in the McKay rally. I always thought that any member could not be disadvantaged to attending an event. But then they would say its not an official ferrari event......so then why do they use the insurance of the club for the event......or am I just p!ssing in the wind. Maybe we need a "sue thread"
Buy a 400 for 15K, enter the Rally. Ring up and say it's broken so have to bring a different Ferrari. Easy. Sell 400 to someone else to do the same etc, etc.
but is it an official ferrari event or just pseudo off shelf thing. I'm starting to think the carby people are about as discriminatory as the hairdresser set. Last i looked all the cars came out of the same factory, and its not like a pre enzo era and post enzo era.
You guys a missing several points. 1.The guys organising the run put a great deal of effort into the event, numbers a limited to 40 cars due to venue and accomadation numbers being limited. Thus they keep the event limit to v12 carb cars. 2.Its only every 18 months and as the title states "The David McKay rally" its for the old cars, there one special event. 3.If a load of modern cars turned up the event would fall over. 4.Its for better this way then the old cars going underground again and not being scene or used. 5.The event only happens due to certain peoples passion and its IMO there right to invite only v12 cars on a special rally. 6.The alternative would be a breakawy group with the FCA loosing out on the old cars going on there normal events. Lighten up its only every 18 months or so and the trade of is a.The carby group numbers are very strong and fab runs are being run throughout the year b.Many of there runs are double into normal FCA runs c.More and more older cars are being scene at runs.
now can we have the readers' digest version 1. we only allow carby front eng V12 2. we dont like hairdressers 3. we are so important that we tag along the entrails of the FCA for insurance and are too lazy/ stingy to set up our own club.
I think it also honours the man who did quite a bit for the marque in Aussie,as well as being a pretty fair peddler of any type of car. Perhaps an excuse/reason to get the old dears out, though it is within the timeline of the man himself.......if you get my drift on that lot..
the simple answer is that its a question of numbers, anything over 40 cars to hard to organize. Thus limiting the rally to v12 cars helps resolve that issue. Plus what a special event every 18 months 40 odd v12 cars in a group and of places Australia.
