For those not familiar with the channel, great contents, interviews with amazing people, etc. Davide is a great guy as well. Met him in Milan a few years ago and he ended up coming over and filming a couple of my cars. Very knowledgeable and passionate.
I think this is an excellent video. Rare to see video of a Dino driven at speed lap after lap on a track. You experience how emotional a Dino is!!
He mentions the tires a few times. We can see they’re branded Michelin but can anybody identify the type? Dougal @Longstone Tyres ?
Thank you, Freeman. Now that I look more closely I’m sure you’re correct. Something in the subtitles led me to think he said something about being on modern tires.
XWX https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/michelin-classic-tyres/xwx.html That is why they look so good and more importantly, why it handles so good. Interestingly, as i was watching it he said it handled really neutrally specially for a car of that era - i was just thinking i might have had anothe 2psi in the front, as for my personal taste it looked like it erred slightly toward the under steer, but as a historic racing thug i am a bit more of an oversteer man. However what it did show and what i think he enjoyed about the car was its predictability and progressivenes, which i a good reason to fit OE tyres to a classic car like that when you can. Specially when you are confident of the quality, like with a Michelin or a Pirelli. This is one of the better moving XWX tyres so i have 2 date codes on the shelf, both of which are this year.
