The amount of electronic hardware and lines of code in cars continually goes up. They are rolling networks with a hundred million lines of code (some with twice that) from various vendors on multiple interfaces. Expect more errors over time and not less.

Hi Guys , has anyone experience the following with the sf90 ? driving today switched from electric mode to petrol and lost power on gears
Pulled over and limped home in electric , the touch screen which highlights the mirrors and lift system has gone black and states (system not programmed?)
any clues or I imagine back to the dealer ???

that's an uneasy view I wouldn't want to see and concerning.best case I would start with your typical full recharge and lock method; then give it 15min drive and see if the problem reoccurs. Maybe it could be a lack of communication from your ecu to motor/transmission; that's just my guess. Maybe that might give the ecu a soft reboot. Keep us posted

I have a 2022 SF90 that I purchased two days ago. 300 miles on it. Had the same problem. Had to come home on E mode which I have to say, was nice to have as an option but having the problem to begin with was frustrating. Got to a light and the car all of a sudden was running rough and not producing much power. Managed to get home and plugged the car in for several hours and when I fired it back up I had full power. Took it out for a 45 min drive at all speeds and RPM's and at the end of the drive it did it again. Fortunately I was only a few miles away from home and came back again in Emode. Its going to the dealer on Monday and we'll see what it could be... Image Unavailable, Please Login

A friend with 296 has same problem. When going from electric to ICE, ICE balked. Not fixed yet due to his schedule, but dealer will pick up.

i had this happen one time a year ago or so. car drove fine; i did take to dealer. my problem likely was like one of the earlier comments from 2021 about one system not getting up to speed quick enough for a check when the car was first turned on. hasnt happened since then.

Had my SF for a month or so -similar lights and could care less as there is no effect from the power etc
My dealer just received an update from Ferrari to their diagnostics computer - car is in the shop /ready for pick up.

Enjoy your 1000 hp - one of the best drivers cars to leave Maranello.

thanks, good luck with the repair. Hope thats the end of it. I agree on the car. Its amazing how easy to drive a 1000 HP car can be...Have you done any mods? wheels, carbon fiber, suspension?

Not done any mods - desire gone for now.
The tech / how everything works is sophisticated and need some seat time. In time - maybe
Hit WOT on entrance ramp - the wheels spun / zero lag and pulls to infinity.

Hi Jamie - I have had a similar issue with my sf90 but pulled over and then when I tried to get going the park park froze on and so had to get it low loaded to the dealer. I should hear from them tomorrow what the story is but wondered what your dealer reported back to you?

My SF90 with 400 miles was picked up by the dealer last Wednesday after 14+ sensor messages showed up on the dash which went dark along with the passenger dash.

The car left on a rollback at a 100% charge and as of this morning the high voltage battery is at 15% and dropping.

    Definitely NOT looking good.

    FOLLOW UP QUESTION

For those who know, how long should the High Voltage battery remain charged when not plugged in.

As posted my thread above, my battery went from 100% charged to 0% in 55 hours,

This wouldn’t be good if someone were traveling.

    Check 12v battery.
Mine drains too quick due to weak 12v from the factory. To charge 12V, car wakes up every 30mins to charge it yet bad battery won’t recover to full state so mine constantly woke up every 30 mins no matter what.(you will not know until service hooked up the car and monitored abnormal behavior)

Only after 12V change, battery drainage became normal.

I hope mine is that simple as well.

I am real interestd in learnng how long the High Voltage battery should hold a charge when unplugged.

I feel like by now, all of these bugs should have been sorted out. Such a bummer for such an amazing car!

    three things here:
    (1) *DO NOT* use any extension cord to charge your car (and make sure you always plug the wall in first, then into the car).
    (2) i have left my sf90 in the garage, "mostly charged", unplugged, and off for three weeks - no problem at all, maybe lost 1 mile of range and no issue w/12v.
    (3) every so often, the car turns on some loud cooling fans for battery temp regulation. this obviously could suck up battery power.

Just to complete following my post a few weeks ago. Car came back from the dealer and apparently the issue was a faulty injector. Apparently rain gets in via the Perspex cover slats and settles in the cylinder valley. All good now and back up running.

  23. Really?

    Water?

So the car can't be driven in the rain?

If this is really true, it jus perpetuates the stereotype of Ferraris and Ferrari ownes.

    Terrible.

If it was a brand new car, it’s a build fault, nothing to do with water being an issue. Water ingress may have been the symptom but not the real issue. But this also casts some perspective on the anti hybrid team. This failure is nothing to do with the hybrid system and could have happened on a non-hybrid just as easily.
