As many of you know, my days of multiple 2 seater sports cars are numbered. Now that I have the CS, what else do I need as far as sports cars..............that said, I think the days of the Spider are numbered.

I need to add a four seater to the stable.......Two or four doors doesn't matter. But Four seats for sure. Can someone suggest something I haven't already thought of?

Four seater Ferrari's are the way to go. Other four seater cars are as inspiring as watching spuds grow on potatoes. My sugestion is a fourseater 460 Scaglietti. Just something to think about Kuzi.

    What have you thought of?

Ask Albert how he likes his Maser. I think a Quatroport (sp?) is good looking car and might fit the bill.

Assuming this is for Jen, and knowing she already likes BMW, the X5 4.4 has been great for Sandra so far. No problems and dirves like a car.

my $.02.....depends on what you're looking to spend....HEAVY HITTA!!!!!

Actually it will be for me............J gets the RR. I'm looking for more of a sport sedan or coupe.

Speaking of QPs, I have an appointment to drive the Quattraporte and the Continental GT this weekend. All very good ideas so far guys.

Jaime Oliver has a cool video on the Car
    ( If you haven't seen it )

The new Maser, from what I've read, is NICE!

Congrats on your new "Silver Streak", btw.

There really isn't anything... most of the 4-door cars out there are uninspiring and simply boring. 6-series is ugly, Quattroporte is too "old" (but that you are getting LOL!!! ;) ), and certainly no American sedans. My vote is for the new M5 if you can get used to that backend or the E55 if you like your Benz to look the rest of the AMG lineup.

You should check out the Maserati Grandsport Coupe - it is the M's equivalent of the CS...;-)

If it was between the 612 Scag and the Continental GT I would go for the GT. The Maser Grandsport ain't bad either.

Don't know if I could live without an open car though. I guess if it did me enough in other ways I would get over it.

When I walk into the garage now...........My attention immediately falls on the CS.......Parked next to the Spider makes the Spider look like its on stilts. I know its only maybe .5 inches lower, but side by side the CS looks soooo much lower/aggressive and I'm not sure why. Possibly all the body cladding. I've had a lot of fun in my spider......putting on close to 8K miles on her since new. Dana, your comment about the open top thing has got me thinking..........any open top 4 seaters out there worth mentioning?

This is a really tough decision for me. I just am not inspired or moved by any sport coupes or sedans out there currently. Today I was offered an CL65 in Tectite Grey. It is an amazing automobile with over 600hp......it would fit my needs perfectly............but when I stare at it.........Nothing! I think all of us really have been "ruined" by Ferrari and what the marque does and means to us. Like they say, its all about "Emotion" baby!

    Kuzi,
It's a shame, if I had the dough, I would snap that spider up in a "NY minute"! As far as a four place/four door car (need four doors to get that baby seat in and out right?), I would think the Maser Q is worth a look; I was mighty impressed with the interior/exterior (but "only" 400hp)...and as you know I like Bimmers, so the new E60 M5 is high on my list....the specs and technology is simply amazing: V10, 500hp+, seven speed SMG transmission, 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, and (with speed limiter removed) a top speed over 200mph!

The only negative to these two choices, is that they are new cars, and the possible "new car glitches". Of course they both have four year warrantees, but that is small comfort if the car is in the shop all the time.....

Never been much of a Merc fan, like you, they just don't stir much fire in my belly...

If you like the styling the new M5 is gonna be one of the sportiest of the sedans out there. 8250 rpm redline in a 5.0L V10 7-speed SMG...doesn't sound like a recipie for your average 4-door :D

I would have to agree with Nick. The M5 is pretty hot. I think it would cover most of the bases.

The only 4 seat, open car with any performance that I have seen was a 456 convertable (conversion). Nicely done but unfortunately the model is getting long in tooth.

I guess your only resort would be a slammed 65 Impala bro........................

Hell, just do a stretch on the Spider and call it good.

I would recommend you to stay away from the CL65 at all cost. Yes it's exclusive, yes it's extremely fast to 60 mph but the resale value of that car is going to drop very fast. I don't think that the 65 series cars at Mercedes are worth 50K over their 55 series counterpart.

The BMW M5 is a good one but is unavailable yet. The E55 is a great car, fast, comfortable and perfect to go fast unnoticed. It really depends of what you want. If you want the ultimate 4 seater I would recommend you go look at the 612, if you want a less expensive alternative the Continental GT you mentionned would be a great choice. The Quattroporte is definitly already outclassed by the germans in performance but the styling is definitly italian.

There's about a 3+ year wait for the new M5. Neither it nor the E55 will move you like an F car, nor the BMW 6 Series convertible. They are all too boring when compared to a 360 spider or CS.

    The CL65 - sooo what?

The Maser Grandsport sounds awesome - heard it go by when I was the factory. It's an inch lower, more clading all over, sport seats, fater F1 shifts...a red start button....yummy.

I'm sure Roberto over at FOS will make you a deal. I hear they wll be arriving any moment now.

What about a M3 Convertible? You can get a SMG or 6-speed. They are proven cars and are a lot of fun. It's not really a four door though.

I like it better than the 612 but then I am partial to the front end styling of the Maseratis anyway.. It looks a little more compact and sporty than the 612 also.

Consider too, just how often will you need those back seats to justify four doors?

Personally I would go for a compact 2+2 that looks like a coupe.

    Don't forget, it's a Ferrari based engine.
