i keep them on all the time they look stunning
Anyone know why the front and back led lights sometimes appear to be flickering in videos? Does it have something to o with refresh rates of the camera vs that of the lights? Somehow see it occurring the most in 458 videos and almost never for other cars w led lights. Anyone know?
I was under the impression that daylight running lights (DRLs) were mandatory on new cars in the US. I Googled it, and unless I'm mistaken DRLs are NOT required. I understand that there may be some safety/visibility benefits of DRLS so I'm glad so many people like DRLs. That said, unless DRLs are mandatory I personally would prefer to decide for myself if/when I turn on my lights and under what circumstances. As far as I can determine, the DLRs on my Speciale are on "all the time". I reviewed the owner's manual and it clearly says that "day lights" can be activated or deactivated in the Left TFT/Car Setup/Day Lights. I didn't find this option on my Speciale. But I haven't been able to figure out how to re-calibrate my tire pressure management system either. LOL. Has anybody with a US Speciale been able to activate/deactivate the day lights? When it's convenient could you take a look and Let me know if you have the option under Left TFT/Car Setup/Day Lights? Thank you. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can you activate/deactivate the daylight running lights? I don't seem to have this option on my Speciale.
Mine is always on auto too. Too flashy really...... It's a 458 for crying out loud. Plus it's an insurance discount ( daytime running lights )
I like the idea of being able to active/deactivate the daytime running lights myself. The owner's manual has instructions on how to do it, but I don't seem to have this option on my Speciale. I'm curious to know if I'm doing something wrong or if this option is not available in the US.
On. All my cars are always on. You want other drivers and pedestrians to see you coming. Safety issue. I like the looks as well but the main reason is safety.
I understand. But can you deactivate them if you wanted to? The 2015 Speciale owner's manual says you can and they provide instructions, but it doesn't seem to work on my car.
Really dont see why anyone would want to turn them off. If you think they are ugly, well you cant see them. If you are concerned about what other people think i have yet to have anyone tell me the lights are ugly or even ask if i could turn them off. The idea is that people can see the car sooner and this may avoid an accident. This is true in town or on the highway. Most cars have front running lights in the US. 2011 Boxster S, S4 and RS5 all have them. Only way i have found to turn them off is to turn the fog lights on. People can still see the cars coming. Best
Nobody could understand why I didn't want a radio in my car either (the answer is because I didn't want a radio). All I wanted to know (I changed my mind, I don't care anymore) is if you have a US Speciale and somebody held a gun to your head and threatened to pull the trigger unless you deactivated your daytime running lights and they allowed you to open the owner's manual so you could read the instructions, can you deactivate your daytime running lights? BTW, why hasn't Obama made daytime running lights mandatory in the US? Why stop at daytime running lights? maybe it would be even safer if all cars had flashing headlights and automatic horn honkers. And maybe the windshield washers should squirt periodically just in case someone didn't notice the running lights, flashing headlights and the automatic horn honkers :-j this country... On. If you are worried about "bling" why in the HELL do you buy a Ferrari? The whole damn car is bling.
I always leave mine on because they match my gold Yachtmaster II that is always on my wrist and that wrist is always laying against the outside mirror on the drivers side of the car. Most folks think I bought the watch to match the car...actually it was the other way around. TIC
This has become a challenge to me. I don't want a radio in my car either. I don't want carpets. I don't want leather seats, I don't want power windows (I like the roll up windows in the Enzo). I don't want NAV. And I don't want a telephone. I was able to spec my car mostly like I wanted, so all in all it's the way I want. But I want the flexibility to turn the running lights off if I want to. The whole damn car is bling? Did you order yours with the optional spinner hub caps? LOL. Problem solved :-j Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don't do that. I like stripes. LOL. I just don't like radios and daytime running lights Image Unavailable, Please Login
