Looks like the season is going to start with a bang: Cardenas and Eslick are 1 & 2 in practice. Both are on JU's bikes. I'll get to watch from the France family suite at the track, should be interesting. Art
I am going to have to root for Eslick this year. So many people dismissed his championship since he was on the Buell, even though no other Buell was even close in points. Winning another championship this year would go a long way toward showing it wasn't all because of a displacement advantage for the twin.
JU is a credit to the sport and has done more for 2 wheel racing in our market than it could have done on its own. i will be happy to see the hammer boys run fast!!
In Superbike practice, Hopkins is only in 8th or so. Hopefully he gets closer to the front by the race.
You can see that Chris Ulrich is in 7th. However, there is only about 1.5 seconds from the front to 8th. I think that both will be on the box when it's over. Art
Besides Eslick, I'm pulling for Steve Rapp in the 200. I'd love for Ducati to win it. The 848 was uncompetitive last season but seems to have been greatly improved this year. In Superbike, Pegram looks fast on the big Duc as well. This could be his year to take the championship. Hopkins and Ulrich were faster than yesterday but still off from pole time of Yates.
Well, two races and two DNFs for Hopkins. Definitely not the way to start the season. I couldn't find a reason for the non-finishes anywhere, I wonder what they were?
