it seems my A/C fan switch, the rotyary switch on the right, has shorted out. I know my local Ferrari dealer has no such part, but was hoping someone would suggest a part that could be substituted for it. It belongs to a Daytona, but I am pretty sure the same switch from a 308 or Boxer would do just fine. Any help? Thanks.

I need one too. The Fan blower motor switch, mine is toast.

A local AC shop said it was a pretty standard switch. So far however I have searched at Autozone, Advance, NAPA, Home Depot, Loews and Radio Shack. Nothing close... Radio Shack had some similar type switches but not heavy duty enough to handle the amps the blower motor will draw.

So.... keep up update on what you find! Trutlands has nothing, I tried them last week. I also emailed Ferrari UK but never got a reply.

From looking at their catalogue it appears that Vintage Air may have a switch.

I will also be calling these guys on Monday: http://www.electro-nc.com/

Stinks no such switch is available locally. That put the nail in the coffin on my hopes of having the car ready for the Italian Car Day show next weekend :(

Nope. Vintage Air does not have one.

The switch only has a single wire that goes to the fan blower motor. The switch itself has a built in voltage regulator in the form of a coiled wire on the back of the switch that somehow assists in sending a varied amount of voltage to the blower motor and thus varies the speed. Vintage Air does not have one like this.

Neither does: Pep Boys, Advance, Auto Zone, Radio Shack, TRutlands, or the local A/C specialty shop.

I did find a rotary switch at Ace Hardware that will fit in the stock position and allow the fan blower to operate on a single setting that being full throttle. Since teh amount of air coming from the vents is limited even on wide open, im not sure any other setting is even worthwhile anyhow. I will install that switch until I can find one of the original style.

I also cut my cover panel on the front where teh switches are and fabricated a means of removing and replacing the face panel where the switches mount so the switch can be replaced quickly without having to remove the entire cover.

***** Hot off the phone as I was typing this! Just got a call from Gainesville Radiator and A/C here locally. He had been tracking on this for me and says he "thinks" he has located some of these. He is getting some shipped to him, I will have one tomorrow.... if indeed it does work I will post their info so you can order directly.

    Got it.

The perfect replacement part.... three position switch with three posts on the back and the little wire coils that vary the amperage going to the fan blower motor based on the switch position. Its the exact right part, cost me about $45.

Ask for Dave. Tell them I sent you and you need a switch just like mine for a Ferrari, he will know exactly what you need. When he ordered mine he also ordered several other so he will have them in stock.
