Does anyone know this car and its history: http://fantasyjunction.com/cars/1313-Ferrari-365%20GTB/4%20Daytona-4.4%20Litre%2012-Cylinder
IIRC it has been listed on their website for over a year now. That means it is dramatically overpriced.
I was in Fantasy Junction as recently as the beginning of December and this car was NOT for sale then. If you have proof that your statement is true by all means lets hear it. If not you have stepped firmly on someones toes. I see a well maintained low mileage car that looks to be one of the best Daytona's on the market right now. Aloha, Mark
I'm not that sure about! I have seen the add for 16933 the first time on Classicdriver.com some weeks ago ... the car looks nice! I'm quite sure it has been restored in some way.
I looked up this car in FML. It was for sale in 2002 at $130k. I'm sure some work has been put into it since then. Still, amazing how values have moved up in 10 years. FJ has had some nice Daytona's for sale recently...a black one, a very nice yellow one, and now this car. I opted for a GTC and subsequently a QM, but like a moth drawn to a flame Daytona's keep calling....
Especially the bottom side of the engine and the transmission is looking very clean. Also the wishbones are for sure redone - to me the wishbones are looking to golden
Being picky. The DISEGNO di pininfarina Side Script badge has been changed to an incorrect one, so it shows it has had paint, on that wing at least.
The car was restored by Wayne Obrey/Motion Products. We did a pre-purchase inspection of the car, and it is very nice. The wishbones are powder-coated gold, which is why they look incorrect, they should be plated yellow zinc. The mouse-hair on the dash is nice and original with no typical water stains. It has all of the correct emissions control parts, hose clamps, plastic wiring clips, etc. The only big thing that we found was that someone had ground the Cromodora logos and wheel sizes off of the wheels and smoothed them out with bondo for some crazy reason. When the seller discovered this, he bought a used replacement set of wheels to go with the car. Needless to say it sold pretty quickly. I don't know where someone got the idea that this car was in Fantasy Junctions inventory for a long time. Right now it is a sellers market, and they are selling Ferraris as fast as they come in. They have three buyers for a 330GTC and no cars to sell.
The car even seems to have the right ignition!+1 I would like to have such a nice tool kit! Only the covers for the hoses (left and right side) in the engine compartment are missing and I'm not sure about if the series 2 cars should have the cover under the radiator to the anit-roll-bar.
Just noticed this thread. Have had the flu, and am in the process of moving: interesting times. I sold the car through FJ very quickly, not sure it was even advertised. I gather they have advertised the car and immediately flipped it at a higher price for the buyer. Darkly amusing. I am happy to answer any questions about the car. I will miss it, but have too many other cars and am a driver, not a collector. I agree Daytonas are under-loved, and I don't think they need power steering. But I won't hate you if you install power steering. Cheers, Will
Unless there were two blue Daytona's @ FJ for sale in the last 12 months, I am not mistaken. Perhaps there were, in which case I would be wrong...........as I am not going to flip thru my magazine collection to find out just now since I am posting from work, it's apparently of no matter as this car is sold.
I owned 16933 for the past 12 months, though I am not the current seller. It was not offered for sale until December. Perhaps this was the other blue car? http://www.fantasyjunction.com/cars/1082-Ferrari-365%20GTB/4%20Daytona-4.4%20Litre%2012-Cylinder In any case, you are mistaken as to 16933.
That could be it Will.........been watching one sit there since Dec of 2012.......priced in the $400's........
Moving?!?! Say it ain't so... Will miss seeing your cars in the airpark. Hope we have the opportunity to meet someday. Did pepco's rolling blackouts and road salt at any precipitation with temperatures under 45 degrees finally get the best of you? Luke
I think FJ is bit ambitious in their pricing. I seen this car in person. Not sure how they issue Platinum these days but I saw some noticeable flaws in the paintwork. At that pricing I would expect near perfect paintwork.
The USA version Daytonas do not have the fiberglass covers for the hoses, only the European version have them.
