Thought you guys might appreciate this nice bit of fabrication. I was visiting a friend's shop (La Scuderia) here in Albuquerque a few days ago and he showed me an interesting project he was working on for a customer's Daytona Spyder. The owner of the car wanted to run air horns but didn't want dirt and dust getting sucked into the motor (obviously) so the solution is this custom fabricated air box that is loosely based on the air box that some of the Daytona Comp Coupes ran. The box itself will be painted with black crinkle-style paint. The air intake was fabbed out of carbon fiber and then covered with a layer of fiberglass to give a period-correct look. The intake also was designed to be wider and taller than the original Comp intake for better air flow. I'll post some more pics when its done and installed on the car if anyone is interested.

Make sure he checks that it fits your particular car first. For a lot of Daytonas, it's a real tight fit where the intake snakes forward. (Obviously, this assumes you will also remove the air horns, or move them to the left inner fender panel like early Euro Daytonas.) I've seen custom cold air boxes built and not fit the car they were built for.
