I've heard of folks speak to this in the past, but have never heard conclusively that it can (or can't) be done, nor seen pictures to document it.

Is there a known uphostery firm who can provide replacement 308 leather seat kits in that classic Daytona horizontal striping style? So far, all that I can find are OEM look replacement kits.

I'm getting ready to consider a re-do of my OEM seats, and would like to see what options there might be out there to do this - to me, this is a timeless "classic" Ferrari seat look if there ever was one!

If anyone has pics, please post!

    Cheers - DM

I have seen pics of those style seats in a 308, but didn't save them. Not familiar with any current vendors.

Neither GAHH nor World have the Daytona seat covers advertised, except of course for a Daytona.

Does anyone know if a Daytona seat kit will fit a 308 series seat frame?

Yes, those seats in your 328 are exactly the style I am seeking. Any ideas where they came from?

    Cheers - DM

The sides of the seats on the bottom closest to the hip area is quite hard and causes my left leg to go numb.

You are probably right it maybe the only ones in the world, I glanced at the headrest and the Ferrari logo is stamped/embossed, the drivers seat is now covered in two layers of clear plastic bags. I wouldn't even venture to ask what they are worth.

Dave, I have been struggling to find the complete history of this car, we know for a fact that the whole body is aluminum, the seats appear to have been special ordered for the car when the first owner purchased the car. This is the only 3X8 car that I have seen that has these seats installed.

As suggested by the other folks, get in touch with Re-originals for their opinion, I cannot say if the Daytona kit will fit. I did poke around the website and those DAYTONA replacement seats are outrageously expensive.

As suggested by BIGTEX my seats are probably the only ones in existence in the world.

    Cheers,
    Rhett

A shame about the pressure point, a good trim shop could maybe adjust foam density....

Those are not Daytona seats man, they are special 328 seats in Daytona trim...I still say Reoriginals could get it done with original Italian vendors, that's the hook up they have!

It'll probably be the same lady that did the others! LOL!

I like the look of the seats. I didn't know you could get a set of one off seats from Ferrari. That does make for great history.

If you had his money you could get anything you want, bro....they replaced his wrecked Enzo under warranty!

Disclaimer: They are very nice folks, major philanthropists in Texas,...no offense intended......trying to channel a little Mark Twain there, that's all!

Call Reoriginals and I'm sure they can get the seats made ...."Daytona style" is still heavily used in the modern cars......

I knew he was on the site here, wax...

He bought that car at Wilhoit Enterprises in Springfield, MO......same place as my Art Car!

I spoke about it with Micheal Wilhoit on the phone......no one knew what do make of the car, in aluminum, seperated from it's Owner History......
Worse still, he told me if he couldn't sell the yellow car with red/black seats he was gonna say "f**k it" and redye the whole interior solid black!!!!

I'm glad he didn't, but will agree the yellow/red/black was a bit unusual........oh wait, that's the colors on a Pennzoil bottle! LOL!

Now Google Jamail PennzoilTexaco merger failure, multi million dollar court settlement............might have even been billions$$$$...one of those numbers.....;)

I merge to the right when folks like that come up in my rear view.......

So anyway I am just trying to help here, but knew more than most folks "willing to talk about it".....

I use a melted piece of the Enzo engine block as a paperweight, it ran out on the asphalt and congealed like a natural gold nugget.........

Oh yea, and I grew up, and mom still lives...... at 127 22nd Avenue........

$7000 according to re-originals who can get either the fixed set back or adjustable one as you have for that price in any color you like. In fact I think they have some yellow/black ones right now with the fixed set back like the original Daytona.

Actually I have done just that: Converted regular 308 seats into Daytona seats.

Despite what websites claim, there is no such thing as a conversion kit/hides in the Daytona style.

288 GTO hides wouldn't work on 308 seats either as the seats are different.

I bought hides (just plain leather ready to be converted into anything) from worlduph.com along with plastic inserts. Those are the stripes with the holes. I had to cut the circles out myself, nice little job while watching TV. :)

Then I took the 308 seats and the hides to an upholstery shop and showed them some Daytona seat pictures. The rest was up to them to do the conversion. Cost me $ 500 per seat for the job. They stitched the plastic inserts onto the leather. Came out nicely.

I'm still working on the headrests. The easy job would be to just have them upholstered with the new hides, but I really wanted Daytona style headrests as well. I got "blue prints" on how to build those yourself out of wood. My carpenter friend is still working on those (he still has the prints). Eventually I'll take his blocks and the remains of the hides to the upholstery shop as well.

Also I wanted the embossed horsey on the headrests (although original Daytona seats don't have that). There is a place in Canada that actually embosses your leather once you send them a piece of the hide. Very cheap, but came out beautifully.

    Voila.

Note, that I didn't go all the way Daytona with mine: I had the stripes go all the way up. I could have had the arch as it is in the real Daytona but IMHO then you end up with too few of the charisteristic stripes.

Also of course if I had picked red stripes it'd be a lot cooler, but I wanted a black interior entirely as the car's outside is yellow (I think yellow stripes look goolish).

2nd picture is from a friend's headrest project. Since my building blocks are still with the carpenter I can't post any of my pics yet. Daytona style headrests are very complex and in my "kit" they're made of three leather covered parts plus the metal brackets that connect them to the seats. The real trick is to sand the wood blocks in the right pattern. I leave these things to the pros. :)
