a little bit of a hodge-podge, but they are two styles of pouches.

the one on the right is an early 60's pouch typically seen with the outside plug engines.

the one on the left is a late 60's pouch, seen from the 275gtb up until ealry daytona production run.

the interesting aspect of the daytona books, is they include a 74 dealer directory, which doesn't belong to any daytona and a 71 dealer directory.

also the agip cloth is a very late 73 item, also unusual for a daytona

I bought the 74 directory and the cloth from a friend of mine when I bought my borranis and some other ferrari parts. I was just wondering about the pouch, do you think it came from his 330?

The pouch on the right would be correct for a 4cam and early Daytona. It probably has an outside pocket on the back of the pouch, correct? Given the VIN, this car is probably a summer 1971 build date car. It probably would have had a pouch as seen below. These pouches have no outside pocket on the back.

The guarantee card is fine, my 1973 Daytona Spyder came with exactly the same card, signed by owner and dealership, dated March 1, 1974 (when the car was sold). The Concours crowd gets all spooled up over this sort of stuff. Yeah, there really was 1973 warranty booklet completey different than the earlier guarantee card like you and I have. When a Judge saw the contents of my pouch, he said they were all wrong. That is, until I opened up the Guarantee Card and showed him the signed, stamped and dated information inside, original window sticker, original first registration and title documents, etc. Yup, my car came with an ealier Dealer Directory, a 1972 version of the USA Supplement, the earlier version of the Owners Manual, an earlier verison of the Spare Parts book, etc. Now, if it had materials with the car that didn't exist yet for a specific build date, that would be a problem (for authenticity only).

Don't worry too much about the "experts" say (and that includes me), unless you want to show your car. If you want to do that, just PM me and I'll tell you, with pictures, exactly what should be in your document pouch to receive zero deductions. Ditto anything else on your car.

I would suggest that if the original owner said that the suff he provided is what came with the car, then I'd take him at his word and keep all of that stuff with it as opposed to trying to get something more 'correct'.

Very interesting. My daytona has no pouch, tools, manuals, nothing. Just a fantastic car.

Even more strange was this one that was on e-bay this week :-http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150211616354&ssPageName=STRK:MEDW:IT&ih=005

it had all the right doc's but i had never seen a pouch like that for a Daytona and when i asked the lady how she new the pouch was a "real Daytona pouch" this was her reply :-
"It is from a Daytona owned by a close relative.
The car was sold but not the manuals"
here's a pic of the pouch:-

That one looks like a late 70s pouch, from a 308 or Boxer.

I don't think is, this one has winning laurels [ the round things i think] on it and all the other cloth pouch's i have seen do not, knowing my luck it will be a very rare one, but if i would have bought it , it would have been a repro. I am sure someone will have the answer.

This is not a Daytona pouch. To the best of our knowledge today, Daytonas came with three types of pouches. Two are very common. Early Daytonas had the 4cam style. Then the so called "Daytona" pouch I posted earlier in the post. It is thought that some very, very late Daytonas had the very dark brown pouch. I'll post pictures of all three.

For a Daytona, probably. And, unfortunately, probably not for long. As the cars go up, so, seemingly, does everything else for the car. I've seen 4cam documents & pouch go for another $5K, or more, over this. 250s, a lot more.

If you own a Daytona Spyder, and need/want a document pouch, $20K probably doesn't feel so bad.
