Apparently my Daytona has the original seat belt buckles. My buckles seem to have some sort of hook on them. Any idea what purpose they serve. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe that Lyfe Lock seat belts were made in the UK and were supplied to English, German and Italian cars.
If "hook" refers to this: Image Unavailable, Please Login I think it is just a loop to make it easier to pull the end of the belt...
I want to replace my lap belts with inertia reel belts. I can feel the hole in the rear shelf through the leather where the shoulder straps will attach, but I can’t see how I get to the underside of rhe panel. Any help appreciated.
I’m pretty sure that the rear shelf is supposed to be covered in vinyl, so you may have gotten an “upgrade” by the restorer here… My recollection is that one can see the bottom side of the bolt hole, but I don’t recall whether it is behind the top shock mount, or inside the trunk (you would have to stick your head way back into the central “cubby” in the trunk, and then look to the left and right). But why do you want to get to the back side? The mounting bolts go into captive nuts that are welded in place, and moving them will be a substantial job. Of course, I’m not sure how strong the original mounting points are, so I could understand wanting to check that…
Thank you Alex. I think you’re right, it is vinyl rather than leather, I wasn’t paying too much attention to what it actually was. I didn’t know there were captive nuts because I can’t see the underside and the topside is covered, but that’s great. thanks again, Paul
