I hear alot that the Daytona seats are very desirable. Is this just a personal preference for the design or are they more comfortable, more supportive, or ??

I am looking at a 360 that has the base power seats. What am I missing???

    Thanks,

    -Jim

Personally, I think the Daytonas are not only more comfortable but better looking.

Absolutely nothing wrong with power standard seats. But Ferrari with Daytona’s are the hip thing to do.

I have power Daytona seats in my 360. Personally, I think they look nicer. However, having long hair I have noticed they pull my hair.

Hopefully you won't have that problem! ;)

Having never had the standard seats I could not tell you the difference between the two. What I can tell you is that I am NOT comfortable in the Daytona seats and as a matter of fact they are the only thing that I have an issue with on my 430. I am 5'10'' and 168 pounds, I feel like there is a bulge right below my shoulders that makes it uncomfortable when I place my head back against the headrest. I think if I was shorter the seats would fit me better, but I could be wrong. I would try out the Daytona seats and the other options before I would settle on them based on their good looks. Good luck.

I've always felt that the Daytona seats were a bit of a "marketing gimmick" to get you to spend the extra money on the car. I felt like they designed the basic ones to be really simple and "flat" looking intentionally so that people would upgrade to daytona.

Gimmick or not, I just like the look so I ordered mine with it. I do think they look great. Are they worth the extra cash? Well, that goes like all the other options on the car that you don't really "need" but you sure like to "have". Personalizing your Ferrari (or finding one that really suits you) is certainly part of the fun.

5'11" and 185 lbs..... Daytona's are SUPER comfortable...... would drive cross country in them without a thought. Looks? Daytonas only. Sport seats and others are trashy looking and uncomfortable beyond belief. IMHO obv <--- ya, like i have humble opinions, heh.

I sat in both prior to my purchase and really did not like the stiffness of the Daytona seat, they just were not as comfortable to me. I will say they do look nicer. Commenting on an earlier post, "why do I need a power seat??", "when would I adjust my seat once its set??!!", my thoughts exactly!

A variety of humble opinions, in deed. How about side-by-side pics comparing both?

I sat in both during my shopping adventure and found the Daytona seats noticeably more comfortable. A bit softer and definitely more secure (i.e., for spirited driving). I also find the electric adjustment feature extremely useful. Something is always messing up the settings (like detailing the interior, letting a lady drive it, etc.) and it's much easier to get it back where I want it. Of course they look much better too.

After my experience I probably would not have a modern Ferrari without the electric Daytona seats.

But the standard seats have the option to be power as well. So it seems like it just get's down to the look preference and some people think they are more comfortable and likely would increase resale value of the car.

The reason I ask is car I am considering purchasing a car and it just has base power seats

There is no difference in comfort or feel between a standard seat and a Daytona seat. It is purely cosmetic.

I love the looks of my tan Daytonas, but I don't find them particular comfortable. I'm a bit broad in my upper torso and I just don't fit all too well in the seat backs.

I have heard more than a few times that comfort aside a car without daytonas takes much longer to sell as it is not considered by a larger group of people. Don't know if that matters to you.

You can adjust the width of the seat bolsters by the dial on the inside of either seat-side.

    Nothing.

More desirable to most however, IMO overrated and typically not comfortable due to their name sake, the Daytona leather straps and stitching design.

I find this as well, I'm about the same size. Bolster width is all the way out. But I have regular seats, not Daytonas.

I sat in both and found the Daytonas less comfortable due to the 'lumps'. But maybe they soften up over time.

Love mine, super comfortable. I like the looks so much, that when I shopped for my 430 Spider, I only considered Daytona seats with piping and stitching.

But, get what you like. I think the standard seats look a little dull.

I like the look of Daytona seats, uniquely Ferrari. Plus I think the options are so important in these cars, shields, daytonas, and grills!

I completely second that. The sport seats are fantastic! And for me, 5' 11" 175lbs, they're a lot more comfortable too. On the track or really spirited driving too, there's no comparison. In the regular seats you'll be sliding all over the place. In the sport seats you are held perfectly tight.

And that's not even talking about the ~100lbs weight savings from skipping the bricks that are the standard power seats. That's half the Scuderia savings right there!! Probably the easiest way to get a good handling and power boost for the car.
