After all these years of devoted service, I'm afraid the visors on my Daytona have given up the ghost. I've tried tightening that screw in the upper left-hand corner, but the visor keeps falling in my face and I need a solution. Does anybody make reproductions or does anyone have suggestions on how to remedy this problem? I fear it will be difficult to get an exact replica of the existing visors. Thank you all for your help.

    Steve.

You might try taking them off the rod, and see if the screws are hitting bottom?
They are the same in all AR and never seen them fail in such a manner.

Best of luck, and great Holidays!

Here are two pictures. One shows the screw which, interestingly enough, I was able to tighten some today and it will work (as long as it will work!). The other shows the rubber hose I've used in the socket. However, in the picture you cannot see that the steel rod does not reach all the way to the receptacle.

I have original sunvisors. All from Straman inventory.

Tom, send me a p.m. with a price and availability. Ideally, they would be white on one side and black on the other. Thanks, Steve.

Thank you all for helping me with this problem. I have previously, and on the number of occasions, tightened the screw in the upper left-hand corner of the visor. It has always worked, but only for some period of time. I tightened it up once again and drove the car today, and had no problems. So, since it works at the moment, I'm reluctant to do anything else. Sometimes "the enemy of good is better". Steve.

When I took delivery of my Daytona, the rods on the sun visors didn’t also reach the mirror. It turned out that the bent rods on the outer ends had been installed on the wrong sides and were pulling the visors further away from the mirror. Once swapped over, they now reach and work fine.

@PDB that is most interesting in the next time it fails, I will check into it. Thanks again. Steve.

This is a picture of the sun visors before I fixed them and you can see that the outer ends are pulled back from the windscreen header trim. When they’re in the correct position they are roughly parallel to the header trim.

@PDB mine are parallel, as they should be, but the rod may have pulled too far to the left (driver's side) thanx again. s
