I might do some of the later weekends. Most of my club racing interest right now is tracks I haven't been to. I would have loved to do Daytona, but already had a conflict when schedule came out.
gotcha. find a NASA race at Willow, Laguna, or Infineon and I'll crew for you! *disclaimer, I have almost zero mechanical ability.
Counting from the pictures itsnt accurate. Its hard to get all the cars in one picture. We started the event with 27 CCR cars out of 32 registeted. There were a lot of 430s much more than 360s or 355 which was a little unusual, as past races have been the other way around, certainly with 360s. Top qualifier was in the 1:53s, top 3 in the 1:54s, top 9 were within a second and a half! It was an amazing race. Had some mechanical attrition before the race and still raced with 25, and 22 cars in the two races. We had at least 3 355s in the races even though we had several 355s drop out at the last moment. I know several guys preparing 355s and have recently joined, so expect a lot more in the coming races. For me this is a priority to grow this coming year. I think the 355 is an amazing value in the series. Developments this year will likely see this as the fastest growing class. I also think preserving the last street legal Ferrari racer is important on many levels. We have some point issues to work out before posting final results. Hopefully have them tomorrow. But it was amazing to be at Daytona with so many challenge cars on the track at once. The times are getting much closer, with a lot of drivers improving immensely. Overall a lot of maturity in the series. We will post up a lot of photos coming up.
