there is a burned out DB3S on ebay for $6000. Not a repro. I would have thought even the chassis would be worth much more as a new aluminum body can be made and an old cast iron DB engine could be found. Must be a catch here or its the bargain of the year._ my wife will leave if I take on another project as this one could easily top $200,000.

When I researched the serial number it looked like it was from a DBS road car from the late '60s not a DB3S.

    Too beautiful!

Always wondered though about the strange wheels. Who made these?

    Best,

    Jack.

    Thanks Kenneth!

They certainly played around with the lacing of wirewheels, and this is just very unusual. I had no idea these were made by Borrani.

    Best,

    Jack.

Are you sure they're Borranis? I think the RW numbers they list now are the normally laced wheels used on the non works cars.

We've just had one of these wheels in for spoke replacement and it had no stampings on the rim as we'd expect to see on a Borrani.
I wonder if they were made by Dunlop who made the alloy rim wheels for competition C-Types, and Austin Healeys>

Just found the ebay listing. This was a total misrepresentation, first DBS's were manufactured from April 1970-May 1972 never in 1954 and never in glass fiber. Most likely someone took the number plates from a rust bucket DBS and slamed togeather a title and a glass fiber body, although, there were a few good quality look alike 3s's made in the Uk and look alike DBR's are currently being make in the uk-mostly with Jaguar components. cheers kdl
