Looking at early production coupes with up to 55000kms / 35000 miles. Cars don't have warranty anymore and most things that could go bad already went bad... so what are the known issues with the DB9? Alternatively, do you have links that could explain common issues on these? Looking mostly at either owner or AM dealer/specialist experiences. Thanks.

In my conversations with dealers, the only things to consider are the fuel pump or module that can go out on '06s. You'll find that the interior of the '05 and '06 isn't as nice as '07 and up.
There was another interior upgrade and more power added in '09 and the new (2011-2012) models have some additional refinements. They are a fairly reliable car overall, from what I've been told, so find one with good records and you should enjoy!! Lots of car for the money, IMHO.

Thanks for the feedback. Friend of mine had issues of top dashboard: the wooden part + leather covered elements came off... it is a 06, was wondering if this also was a common issue.

Hey Pav, I've been looking at DB9s as well as I need to step up to a 4 seater. The Vanquish would have been my first choice but talking to the dealer he reckons she's a bit of a diva while the DB9 should be more or less trouble free.

Took my 5 year old boy to Aston SG last week. he fits in the back of both the DB9 and Vanquish S on his own, but I can't see how we'd fit a child seat in there. I check the Aston forums and this seems to be a problem. No Aston child seats available.

Here's a few issues on the early cars:
    1. Rattling at idle from flywheel, they updated software on later cars to increase idle so it won't get heard!
    2. Fuel pipes in tank corroding causing leakage.
    3. Wrong length dipstick fitted to some early cars resulted in incorrect oil level and subsequent damage.
    4. Convertible roof ecu failure causing whole electrical system to crash.
    5. Coil failures-common-expensive fix as intakes have to be removed for access.
    6. Central locking failures, module programming poor.
    7. Knocking from wear in lower wishbone bushes.

They are good as long as the above has been checked....get a PPI!

Thanks, that's the info I was looking for!

Simon, I believe these are not ment to be for children in childseats. That's a loss compared to the DB7 which was more roomy.
