I think that's probably true at any regional event. You're bound to know more about your car than the judge, unless you get the one or two that really know their stuff.

I got lucky last year and had a couple of guys who really knew Dinos.

If you really want to have fun, go to a multi-brand car show. I did New Hope last year and had a judge tell me that most of my car was wrong, that the reflectors were incorrect, headlights, finish, chrome, doors didn't shut right. The freakin' guy opened my passenger door and leaned on it to see how much "play" it had.

That was when I asked him not to do that again, which was somewhat rude of me I guess. :D

Nationally I would hope the Ferrari concours judging is better. At least one guy there who knows the individual models. After all, if they are gonna gig me for the wrong clamps or screws, I'd like to think they know what the right ones are.

I'm gonna go for the fun from now on. I really think that's the way to do it.

The national event is a whole different animal. But there are still some inane comments that fly around... just ask Mike Bayer or BST1!

Got a reply back from Phil--head judge--Of course he gave me Robert's results and said he would get to my sheet when he could. Not sure how he could fumble thru and find Roberts paperwork, but it was too difficult to fumble some more papers and find mine---Anyway-I will let Robert tell you the score he recieved!!!

News Flash: I received a Gold Award with a score of 94.5!!!! YAHOO!! This being my first event I am pleasantly pleased.

I really do feel sorry for Robbie, I guess next time we wait!!

I did ask Pietro very kindly before we left if he would mind sending us the results and plaque, he had no problems with doing that for us.

I was the guy at the front gate and someone who opened a case and showed me a Video Camera and said they were there from "Ferrari Chat" to video the event, was let in without a ticket. Maybe that was just a clever way to crash the party or maybe I am missing the location of the Video on this site.
It was a great show that is un-rivaled in the east coast area. You guys don't know 1/10th of the work behind the scenes that goes into pulling this event off each year. The Charity Auction raised money for a good cause, the Padre Pio Museum in Barto PA and the Cabrini Academy.
Try to make it to the Padre Pio Event in September to again see some awesome "Ferrari as Art" selected cars on display. The rest of us just attend and hang out.

    Mike.

I hope that whoever did that gets tossed next year if they try it again.

The money raised goes good places, there was no "official FerrariChat" photographer at the event. I would have known that for sure.

And yes, the Ferrari as Art exhibit is fun too. A completely different kind of event, but, still a good thing.

It was a great event, and very well put together we thank you again.

I was the one who spoke with you at the gate, sorry again for any sort of position I put you in. I am working with my footage now and should have something together soon, video work takes a very long time as you would say people don't know the 1/10th of what work it takes. I guarantee you, with a $4,000 camera it was not a clever way of "crashing the party" lol I knew most everyone there as was just told to try and come up for a few hours and get some shots.

Here is a quick sample of a video I did for Joey (Qksilver) on here of his 550.

And also the Ferrari Chat Cruise video I put together, with Johns help putting together the event it went fantastic

When I am finished I will post something up, so stay tuned.

FYI, Bsaint was not representing FerrariChat.com. I heard nothing about this until now and no one asked to represent FerrariChat.com at this event. This user was acting on their own. If they want to post videos on their own, then great, but it wasn’t for FerrariChat.com. With prior contact, I do sign-off for users to act as our media representatives at events, but not in this case. I find it troubling that someone would crash an event for free in the name of FerrariChat.com without getting prior authorization. Just because you are a user of FerrariChat.com doesn’t mean you can act like you work for FerrariChat.com.

    Guys.

This kind of crap reflects badly on us. Both as a region, and as a collective of enthusiasts here on FerrariChat.

When I go to Pietro, or Phil, or any of the other regional guys trying to convince them that FerrariChat is a GREAT PLACE, this will now be an issue, and I can't blame them.

Steve. I think you owe the FCA PA-NJ an apology, and $75.00 for crashing the event. That's what EVERYONE ELSE paid to be there. If you wanted to come, I'm sure I could have gotten you a ticket from Pietro.

You also owe Rob an apology for using his reputation to pull a fast one on the FCA folks who worked so hard to put the event on in the first place.

And finally, I think a nice contribution to the Padre Pio Museum would go a long way to show that you're interested in making amends, after all, that's where some of the auction proceeds went.

I agree... we continue to take two steps forward and three steps back. This is bad for both entities. Steve I really like the video work that you've done but this is..... not cool!

    +1

Upon my first FCA event, it became clear to me the division between FCA MAR memebers and those non members on FChat. Clearly, in the last year, many of the members of this site have done a lot to shrink that gap. Crashing a party in the name of Fcaht is not cool. Not cool at all...
Your videos are great, and I am sure that the camera used to make them was very expensive. Just please don't use it as a ticket to seperate the bonds that the FCA MAR and the FChat community have been working on building this past year.
    Best,
    Luke
