    Changing the oil in 1979 308 GT4. Any procedures needed other than draining old and refilling?

    Some people advise to warm-up the engine first before draining the oil,

    and if you can change the copper washer for the drain plug,

    Then use one of this oil filter

    Yeah, that all there is to it. Drain, change the filter, refill. Done. Agree that it is a good idea to use a new copper washer. Don't over tighten the drain plub. The case is aluminum, and it's easy to strip the threads. With a new washer, you should not need to torque it down too tight.
