Mine is leaking and has to be rebuilt, but I'm at a loss even to know the brand, or how to obtain spare parts, or find someone to restore it, (Sweden/Europe). I've pulled the engine and transmission, so now is the time to have it done.

Just a thought, talk to the Maser guys. I would assume(maybe wrongly) it's the same as the Kyalami.

Some further reading leads me to believe that you may share some parts with that vintage Qporte. Does that include steering? I dunno.

Just by punching up "de tomaso longchamp power steering rack" on a google search, I found a site that says the Longchamp has a rack by Cam Gears UK, from the Jaguar 420. Later cars had ZF racks, according to that site.

Thank you'll. Rear suspension on these cars are quite particular, not in it's conception, but that they are "close to" Jaguar, but differs in size, and of course, in bushings, u-joints etc. When it comes to the front, it's the same, close but not exact. I had a Jag mechanic compare these racks and they are not from a 420.

Isn't there a stamping of some kind on the rack to identify the maker? And can't you just pull out the old, leaky seals and take the dimensions off them?

Post some pictures of your Longchamp, I'd like to see it!

A Maserati Kyalami is being butchered at Eurosapres (www.eurospares.co.uk). Maybe they can help you. It is the same as the Longchamp.

There must be a manufacturers logo stamped on it. Post a picture.

I don´t know what model you have, but if yours has a ZF-rack (series 3000 car had them, for sure), then the Kyalami rack is a direct fit. If yours is 2000-series one it is more likely to have the Cam Gears one. In that case I recommend a professional rebuild.

ZF-rack should be available theru eurosapres and Bill McGarth.

A lot of Kyalami/Longchamp action here...
