Anyone has any information on a supercharged De Tomaso Longchamp? I remember (while living in Austria) that I've seen a BAD A$$ black Longchamp where a rumor was going that he pulled over 700 horses. The Longchamp was registered in Liechtenstein (for the ones who are geographically challenged, that's to the left of Austria and to the right of Switzerland...tiny country with a population I think of 35'000)
We had a Longchamp GTS at ItalianCarFest this year. It was a higher output than the standard Longchamp, but not supercharged. Some pics here: http://rides.webshots.com/album/553989031SBVbGY The car was from Austin.
This was my friends old Longchamp that he had a custom built bodykit done for it. He went on to own a very nice Pantera GT5S and now a Skyline like myself. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes its beautiful, with alot of style and aggression in the looks. The kit reminds me of the old Zender style modified cars. His Pantera has a fantastic bodykit too. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is that a one off kit too? They're amazing - the people who created them really captured the feeling of the cars IMO. Just wonderful.. The Longchamp sends out a very aggressive image yet somehow retaining a lot of class, something quite hard to obtain I feel. Anymore pics perhaps?
Yep, both cars had hand crafted kits for them. Chris was the Club Secretary for the UK Pantera club, so his choice of work done on the cars was obviously top notch. Here's a few more pics. The Pantera now looks like this. The Longchamp pics are of it before and mid customisation. The third last car, the Pantera belongs to Roger Brotton. Is that the same car as the first pictures. ? Steve
Indeed Steve, i believe Roger owns it now, and yes that is the same car. Unknown to me at the time, myself and Chris used to be at many similar events back in the 80's. I took many photos of his car. Al, just for you, one of my favourite Mangusta's, and a nice Vallelunga to boot!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Al, if you would have come to ItalianCarFest in Dallas with the rest of the DeTomaso crew, you would have seen both! You can't see anything staying home slacker!
