I know of only one person that can write like that! Hiding behind a pseudo! not my words. Mark Moshayedi is Not Out of the Woods | stecwatchdog Hey at least I did not quote the story on the Sport5000 Due diligence required here! Oh and BTW very happy Pete Brock was properly recognized for the car shown at the Quail (Did congratulate Pete in a personal email!), unfortunately the car did not have it's proper motor, you want laugh at me for that too!
YOU LIE ..for what purpose ?, Respond !!!!! you are actually the typical internet problem. Because, you have a computer, you believe to have the freedom to put on internet idiots comments from nowhere and you are not even gene by the truth. You purely invent your own world. Please keep your insulting comments for your kids. If you want to come to the adult world, do your home work before posting on internet Ferrarichat try to help people by exchanging infos, not by insulting successfull people
Very interesting post on the P70 and Sport5000 as both cars are in my garage safe and sound. I guess you are the biggest idiot in the world as you believe and recite everything you read on internet and take it as gospel. You must also be illiterate as you did not even read the SEC case recited in the link you provided. I have no idea what your agenda maybe, but if you like to provide me with your contact details, Ill be more than happy to have my lawyers contact you. Not sure what all you peeps are on about with this tough guy talk, I just dig that car...let's see more pics and talk about IT! I do remember vdvgrant Belgian dealer had one offered for years, is this that car? How many were produced? Keep the peace, show respect to one another! Aloha!
thank-you for clarifying. When "he who cannot be named" said the cars were NOT in America, I knew it was not exact. Also glad the issues have been resolved and the cars are cared for. Now we need a proper unique thread for this car.
One P70 and One Sport5000. P70 was designed by Peter Brock and Shelby for US market and the Sport5000 was modified version of the P70 to meet the European race requirements. Shelby was suppose to ship a 7L engine for the car and as he got busy with the Ford GT project and he never shipped the Engine (the car has a 5L engine in it today) and never paid for the car!!! De Tomaso showed the car as Peter Brock's Ghia De Tomaso in 1966 (was on cover of 1966 Road & track) and after not being paid, he took the car apart and put it on the shelf never giving credit to Shelby or Fantozzi who build the body. After Alessandro passed away the Sport5000 as was sold and the P70 was discovered on the shelf and was sold as parts and put back together again. The car was shown for the first time in 2006 since its disappearance in 1966.
Why did they put a 5L in when it was to have a 7 litre? Are you going to put the 7 litre in it? Is this the car that was originally made with the miniature cockpit ?
275 GTB uses the same base, but used a square lens. If I see it correctly the DT Sports used the same configuration that Bizzarrini used, a tapered lens. The OSI 20 Mts used a similar setup, I have seen both square and tapered on those, there was a 1200 OSI spider special that used this base too. Interesting. It actually had me go look at some variances on the other cars. With just a few years apart the square top being the same but lens design different.
It belonged to Dr. Curt Gonstead. Oddly in this picture it is referred to as an OSCA http://allautobooks.com/books/De_Tommy.jpg I think sometimes it was entered as an OSCA and other times as a DeTomaso. Isabelle and Alejandro were both OSCA factory test drivers and buyers and sellers of OSCAS until they fell afoul of the Maserati brothers. I even wonder if DeTomaso put his name on an OSCA to get some publicity as a car builder. It may be related but one time at a POCA meeting in Orange,CA I talked to a fellow who said he had a DeTomaso race car with the wrong body on it, and I am wondering if it was the ex=Gonstead car. He said he was having a new body built, but of course in America it is hard to find people who can roll aluminum like in Italy.
Wally , that car is not a Vallelunga as you have stated it is actually an OSCA 750S [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJNAHej_C9I[/ame] http://www.galeriedesdamiers.com/index.php?page=de-tomaso-osca-1962
The car never got the 7L engine. The P70 body that had a small cockpit was ripped out by De Tomaso after Peter saw the car and Complained and the chassis was given to Peter Brock to take over to Fantuzzi to make the correct body. The body that is on the car today is the Fantuzzi Body.
Does anyone know who owns now this Vallelunga? It was for sale at Fantasy Junction. I'm writting the story of the spanish Vallelungas for autódromo, and I need some info about that unit. Regards, Antonio Image Unavailable, Please Login
