**This will probably be long... You have been warned. :) **

Yesterday when I got home in the 360, I stopped in the driveway in front of the garage door and shut it off.

I got out but when my son opened the passenger side door it started making a beeping noise I have never heard before. When I got back in to try to restart it, nothing happened. I would hit the button on the key fob and got no beep. The dashboard went nuts and the panel that displays all of the warning lights (Check Engine, Sport Mode, Headlight indicator), etc) was blinking on and off. It acted like a car with a dead or dying battery.

So I opened the panel and tried to use my trusty jump starter and nothing happened. Still had the crazy flashing dash.

I was hot and tired so I basically closed it up and let it sit overnight.

This morning I went out and tried again... somehow I was able to get it to finally start and pulled it into the garage. But after shutting off it is totally dead.

My first thought was that it could be the alarm battery. I know from reading other posts that mine is due for replacement. I have had the red light on the dashboard for the two months that I have owned it, and recently have been getting the four beeps error code. I think that indicates the alarm battery but I could be wrong.

My other thought was maybe it is just a dead battery, which didn't make sense after just having driven the car for about 200 miles, plus some track time that day. :)

So I pulled the battery and checked it with the volt meter, it shows 12.9V. So I have a good battery. When I hook it back up now I get one beep from the alarm but absolutely nothing else. I don't even get the crazy flashing dashboard... I even tried the jump starter again and same result. I'm not even getting the F1 pump running when I open the door.

So my thoughts now are that the alarm battery has finally died. Does this sound correct? Seems strange that the entire car would be completely dead like this if the alarm isn't functioning. I could see maybe not being able to get the immobilizer to turn off but the whole car? It is definitely a dead parrot at the moment.. :(

I am open to suggestions, at this point I am thinking either replace the alarm battery or call someone to tow it to the dealer for me...

Stop trying to jump the car!!!! You will cook the EUC's!

I had a similar situation with all the dash board lights blinking at the same time but in my case was when the car running and when I pushed the gas, ir was my voltage regulator inside the alternator.
From what you said you have a good battery since 12v is ok at engine off. I think it is something regarding the alarm and I recomend you call the dealer for any troubleshooting and tow the car. Do you have the manuals of the car? You can read it and understand the alarm function. I think the alarm euc is behind the driver seat.

Sounds like you "know" that the alarm battery is dead (solid red light and 4 beeps) so it would make sense to start by replacing the alarm battery. There is a good thread on hooking up a remote battery or you could order a replacement alarm siren / battery from Ricambi and simply replace it. In the meantime, I know that I recently saw a thread about somebody deactivating their immobilizer (I think by disconnecting the alarm wire to the alarm siren) to get their car to start. I would try that first. As an aside, I am not sure what you exactly meant when you said that you jump started your car but I know that it is not a good idea to jump start a 360 by the traditional means as it poses risk of frying some of the electrical components and or computer.

The alarm battery cannot cause your problem. If you are not skilled at electronic diagnosis it would be best to take it to someone who is and is familiar with the 360. The down side to making a mistake with your problem is lots of burned up electronics. The last one we had here that the owner tried to correct went out the door at over $9000.00.

If I were you I would take it to Competizione and Sports Cars.

Look under the car when under car panel is removed at the heavy gauge cable running to the alternator... The termination on the end of that cable where it attaches to the alternator is a known fail area...When the connection degrades, heat builds up (further degrading the electrical connection) & bizarre electrical issues may follow...

Let us know what you find-

Point taken on the jump starting issue... And when I said jump start I was using one of those 12v car starters with the alligator clips on them you can use to start a car. But I understand the comments on being careful with the ECUs...

I'll look into the immobilizer and if I can get it to move again and up on one of my lifts I will check the alternator cable. The alternator cable could be the problem... I did run the car on the track yesterday and it was near 100 out there...

Barring that I am leaning towards just getting it towed in for service. Which at this point would probably be the safest bet.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will keep you posted.

Just an update on my situation...

Yesterday I picked up a new battery and the car was still dead. Called Ferrari of Washington this afternoon and left a message. My service adviser called me back at about 6PM to ask what I needed. I explained the problem and that I was hoping to have them come get the car Friday or Monday. Amazingly he asked if I was going to be around this evening and they would send the truck tonight...

So here it is 8:30 and the truck just left with my 360. I showed the driver what it was doing, which at this point is basically only lighting up the Air Bag light and the little red lights inside the door. When he got in to straighten the wheel some before he dragged it into the rollback he wiggled the key a bit and banged his hand on the steering column a bit... Then it came to life!! He was even able to crank it over... But when he pulled the key out it went back to being dead.

So it looks like there may be some loose connection in the steering column or lock mechanism for the ignition. He went ahead and took it with him back to the shop, but at least it looks like it may, hopefully, be a simple fix...
