So my 2010 Cali is dead. I need to figure out how to get it out of park so the tow truck can get it to the shop. I think 2010 California don't have the emergency manual release in the coin department seen in other models. Any advice would be appreciated.

Figured it out. There is a key hole underneath the lip of the trunk. It take alot of force but it will open.

if it's really just a dead battery, and you can access the car, the easiest thing to do is install a new battery in place....you can try and remove/charge the existing one but at this point, you're better off getting a new (better) one. plenty of threads here with Cali recommendations.

Follow the directions exactly, and follow the relearn process. Chances are the car will have every alarm, alert and error code going off, which will require a dealer to clear.

IF you need to move the car, you will need to use the key to unlock the steering column, and use the gearbox release tool (in the tool kit) to release the gearbox and put it into neutral. The owner's manual actually describes the procedure relatively well.

Essentially, you need to put the tool into the gearbox and manually (physically!) disengage the gears, as the DCT is in Park mode.

IF you request a tow, I'd make sure the tow company knows how to do the gearbox disengagement before they just drag the car out

Any idea why this happened? Was there any indication that something was amiss prior to the event? Original battery?
