Ok so I have a 2002 ferrari 360. The electric seat is currently not working. Won't move forward or back at all. The only part that works is the back of the bottom of the seat will move down. I am trying to remove to fix or replace. Obviously cannot get to the rear seat bolts without being able to move it forward. Is there a manual over ride or anything like that for this situation to get the seat forward enough to remove rear bolts? Any help is greatly appreciated

No, there’s no manual override. If you cannot get the motors to turn it’s not going anywhere.

You will need to have the bottom seat cushion removed to expose the motors. Once exposed you can disengage from the track and slide at will to remove.

That’s what I was just thinking. Going to have to start disassembling things to get down to it.

anyone have experience remove the seat bottom? or suggestions? I found this picture of a seat bottom. it appears it fastens in the front somehow then lifts up and pulls forward. Any information on the subject would be greatly appreciated!

This may be a crazy suggestion, but do the seat attach bolts penetrate the floor to nutplates attached to the floor? If you can see the bolt protrusion from the underside of the car (after removing covers), can you drill the bolt ends and use a bolt extractor to loosen them to the point you can remove them with your fingers?

This might be a lot of work, but it avoids dismantling the seat.

No, you can’t see them from the bottom of the car. They are encased in metal above the floor plate.

I’ve just had my daytonas redone so I actually have some insight on how to remove the seat cushion.

I hope you might understand what I mean here (excuse my poor english):

1: With one hand (right), and body weight try to press the front part of the cushion forward and down at the same time. This is so you get a few mm of extra leather ”slack” to work with.

2: With your left hand; Try to reach the plastic strip that are sewed on to the foremost part of the leather that are going under the seat itself. This plastic part is ”clipped” on to a metal bar in such a way that the leather goes around it and thus locking it in place.

3: Try to gently pry the plastic strip off the metal bar whilst still pressing down the front part of the cushion.

4: When loose, you can simply lift the front part of the cushion up. The rear part is attached in a similar way.

You will find a plastic mesh that you will have to push aside in order to get to the bolts. It will be tight as hell for you to reach down with a wrench or spanner.

Frankly; I’m not sure you will succeed due to lack of space. I hope I’m wrong though.

    Good luck!

By the way: You can actually see what I try to explain in the last pic you attached.

The front part of the leather goes around itself and locks the plastic strip in place.

The rear plastic strips is much easier to see in the pic.

By the way: In the last pic one can see that the two separate side parts in the front of the seat has come loose. These are supposed to be attached in the same way as the larger one.
These smaller ones are nothing less than a PITA to reattach afterwards.

To be honest: I didn’t have those on my seats.

Might be a later enhancement of the design?

Have you access to the motors connector (red circle) ?

If the motor which moves the seat is not dead, you may try to apply power directly on this connector, by-passing all the commanding stages (button, relay, ... )

I like the remove the seat cushion path. I am a little surprised no one suggested reaching in and grinding the bolt head off. You can then lift out the seat and remove the remaining stud. You only have to buy a new bolt. Easy.

I’m sure the bolt head is incased by the upper part of the track, there is no way you could get in there to cut or grind it off.

I would try to power up the motor directly before I started tearing things apart.
