I caught an episode of "Deadliest Catch" the other night. The skipper was moaning "...last year we were catching 700 crabs per pot in this spot, and now we're only getting 100 per pot..."

Well DUH, what do you expect?! Damn crabs! Can't they reproduce any faster, we've got a quota to fill!

That's like the logger saying, "Geez, we cut down 1000 big redwoods here last year, and now it seems like there's hardly any left!"

Ya, but at least the loggers know where more trees are!

The crab fisheries are heavily regulated. The crab are there, but they don't stay in one place. They move around.

If you saw the underwater vid of Chef Ramsey diving in a fjord in Norway, they showed MASSIVE numbers of king crabs on the bottom, just THOUSANDS! I'd have to think the Baring straight has equally high numbers that could feed us for years if it was 'over fished'...Yes...No?

Yeah, then the dumb azz destroyed some perfectly good fresh crab by slathering some kind of mayo sauce on it...

Ramsey can cook a little bit. I'll trust his judgment in the kitchen...

+1. ya think if he changed his ****** persona he would lose viewership? Who else could get away with a show called 'The F Word'?

In waiting for him to dunk the fresh crab meat into a ramekin of drawn butter, he made that mayo dip.....how disgusting can you get? That's right up there with putting Ketchup on a rib eye at Morton's!

If he's in the kitchen? Sure - I'll trust him. Outdoors with a freshly caught crab? He should follow his own advice that he dishes out (no pun intended) to folks with too complex a menu & keep things simple!
