It was a used FF, so Ferrari S.p.A is out of the question. This is between the transport company's insurance and and I.

It ALL ALWAYS depends on which kind of relationship are u with the transport company.

If the damage was great and u dont care about not using them anymore, go for it.

If the damage was risible and u want to use them again, they are good, they can pay the little depreaciation (cause little damage) without going for the insurance ecc, then talk to them and dont do anything official.

I've had a couple instances of "dealer caused damage" - one was on a 2 week old Ferrari. In both cases, and especially in the case of the Ferrari, my dealer was pure class and was so good, it really cemented our relationship. FWIW, it was an "accident" - I might have been more miffed if it was negligence, incompetence, or joy riding. However, if it was, I think my dealer would have been even better. In the other case, they dinged a fender and we came to a good resolution.

In the case of this thread, over 30 years in business, just about every "settlement" I've encountered has a gag order and certain restrictions in place (unless they were handled in a court, which is rare).

Part of that is PR (i.e. hide the dirty laundry), part of that is to prevent/limit setting a precedent (i.e. dealer totals a car, gives customer a new car....dealer dings a Corolla, customers now expect or demand a brand new Lexus in return). So in this case, I'd expect it to remain under cover.

Quickly re-reading this thread, I still sense that not all of the incident and issue (and follow ups) have been documented here. We probably have 1/2, or even less, of the whole story, whether it's right or wrong.
