Leaving Chapin (20 miles north of Columbia on 26) at 2:00 at 76 Cycle Shop for drive to Newberry Opera House (about 20 miles). Bring an unwrapped toy for a girl or boy. The children will be at the Opera House to pick out their own toy. Come join the fun, Food and Drink provided by the Newberry Opera House staff. Also, there are several fine resturants on the square such as Steven W's.

I'd be interested. I'll try and make it if i dont have school stuff to do, granted I wouldn't be driving a ferrari but an STI.

I am thinking of having everyone meet at my house, or we can leave from the 76 Cycle Station on 76.

So far looks like we have at least two Ferraries, maybe more, perhaps a 430 or GT3, and some other cool cars. It does not matter what you drive, it will be fun and worthwhile for the kids.

    Here is the latest:

THEY HAVE RESERVED PARKING RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE OPERA HOUSE FOR US! You especially want to make this trip if you have not been to Newberry, and besides, it's for the kids. Don't forget to bring a gift.

Instead of meeting at the cycle shop where there may be 200-300 Harleys, we can...

Meet at my house at 12:30 for Pizza, LeMans, and brown liquer. For those not able to come to my house, we will stop at the Exxon (at the Chapin Exit 97) to rendezvous no later than 1:30 for a ride to the Newberry Opera House via the Newberry Scenic Hwy. It should take around 45 minutes to get there from the Exxon.

Also, you may choose to simply meet us at the Newberry Opera House at 2:30 depending on your schedule. I will take a scenic route back to my house for those who did not get to enjoy the ride over. The ride goes through Peak, around lake Montecello, up 34 to Newberry. It's about the twistiest ride I can find around these parts. The route is about 45 miles.

Great Run guys! Thanks for comming, you were so generous to help the Kid in from the Newberry's Boys Home and Thornwell Orphanage! It really pulled on your heart strings to see all of those children, and how happy they were...

    To provide a list of folks and cars: Richard-Tubo Bently, Danny-430, Buddy-360, David 348c, John-328, Todd-TR, Luca-280 SL, Tracy-STI.

I regret most did not get to drive the Lake Montecella route. Me, Luca, and Tracy did on the way back. It was very interesting..the stop by The Sawmill on the river was a scene from deliverane. This is s run down clap board structure with all kinds of junk around it a hundered feet of so on a bluff overslooking the river. They had pot belly stoves of their own design burning inside, a 55 gallon drum outside with burning logs, and they were deer hunting, drinking beer, listening to elevator music with AK 47s pointed towards a gorge and hillside a few hundered yards away. On one part of the drive, some loggers put so much dried mug on the road, they thought I had blown my engine, and Luca's top down Merc diapeared into the clouds. We will bypass this road the next time! Overall it was fun. I chose these road because they are lightly traveled, have some elevation changes, curves, and good scenery. For anyone interested, the road is still there. I'm ready for the next drive...

David, thanks for putting together the meeting and the drive around lake Monticello.
Here are some pictures of the lucky few.
Then, if you want to see some shots from the Sawmill, I have those too...

Golf community, expensive Ferrari, orphans, bikers, redneck hunters...all in a matter of a few hours: Travis, David was trying to help you for your sociology exam...

    David,
Thanks for putting this together, it was super, and went perfectly.
    Pizza was good too.
    Thanks, again.
Great seeing all the boys, and seeing how excited the kids were.
They were milling around those toys like we mill around Ferraris

As anticipated, some pictures of the newly discovered fanciest hangout spot in the Midlands.
F-chat famous J.D. seems a little disappointed: the Playboy Mansion' girls haven't showed up yet and no F40 spares to be found at the yard sale downstairs.
