Any thoughts on whether the magnetic emblem for the front fender is better than the stick-on version?

Most people prefer the look of the cloisonne badges (fired ceramic over metal). The only real disadvantage is that the non-magnetic ones are difficult to remove if you don't want them later.

Try a magnetic first... if you decide you don't like the look at all, then remove them. If you decide you DO like the look, order yourself a set of metal enameled badges.

FYI I've been making my own I bought a sheet of the magnetic material from the office supply and I've been experimenting with different size decals. Not only different sizes but they show up in different shades of yellow. But sand the back of the mag's with some 1000 grit paper or else you'll scratch your paint. At first I thought when I came across the ones I liked I'd attach permanently, but now I think temporory is fine.

I have the magnets---$8.00 on Ebay--look good and I can remove them to wash and wax.

Good enough. I'll start simple. I got a black 348 so my permanently Zymol stained fingers will appreciate the workability of the magnetic type. I'm sure I'll upgrade to the ceramic though.

If they don't come stock on the car why do you want them?

why? Because every ferrari looks better with the shields, that's why! My capristo did not come stock on my 355 either and the car sounds like crap with the stock exhaust.

I have the magnetic ones on my 328. It's my way of honoring Ferrari's racing heritage. Since they are not stock, I take them off for car shows.

i disagree. i used the stickers on all three on my ferrari's . i made sure to put a coat of wax on the spot before i applied the stickers. 2 of the cars went to new owners with the stickers removed . they peeled right off with no issues or residue. i know they are cheap, but i aint paying "that" much for real metal ones that can be stolen, or may chafe and leave marks in the paint.

There are two common types of magnetic shields. One is thin, dead flat, and looks like an add-on. The other is a bit thicker and has a bevelled edge, and looks much more like a permanent part of the car. It is only slightly more expensive than the thinner kind; both are available from T. Rutlands.
