Hi, my white lettering on the air filter cover is looking very shabby. I see there was a chat on the forum about whether a transfer or stencil was available but that was 3 years ago. Is there any update on this? What have other members done to refresh the lettering?

I bought a stencil on eBay and restored it myself, search for air filter stencil, lots of threads. Top looks shiny in this pic, but it's not.

On my airbox, the UFI part is located on the back lower portion of the box, not on the top, the only thing on top is "Ferrari Spa." Not sure when this changed, mine is August 1988 production date. It's not visible from the top.

Made a vinyly stencil, masked and painted the white on - Here's the art work if you want to give it a try

Hi Joe, Thank you for the file. Your repaint looks great, exactly like the original. You must have a steady hand.

Paul - the hardest part of doing that project was applying the stencil, particularly the very small letters (like "spa" after "Ferrari" and all of the words around "ufi") - The challenge is the "punch outs" of letters like "p" or "a" are tiny tiny tiny so you have to sorta hold them in place with the xacto knife as you pull the rest of the vinyl stencil up...Then, flat white spray paint, 10" or so away and with direct (90 degrees to the surface) mists of the paint - several coats until you build up the white to be opaque. Use some masking tape at the beginning to get the stencil located where you want and on straight...Also, for prep, I bead blasted the air box and powder coated it with a fine black wrinkle...Good luck!

A good tip that I used is to blow a coat of black over the stencil first to seal it against the surface, then follow it up with white, you get crisper edges that way. Then touch up the white and black as needed with a fine brush.

Thank you very much for that file! I was also looking into creating that kind of data. Do you happen to have it also as a GIF or PNG?
I am asking because I would like to create a stencil sticker with a Cricut Printer, which essentially cuts stickers from sticker foil.

I have another file of the artwork with an "ai" extension - FC won't let me upload it. If that is what you are looking for, send me your e-mail and I will get it to you
