http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4533521755&category=6212 Unless there's something major wrong that they are not disclosing, this one's a buy. I haven't seen a red one with a fairly fresh service at this price level since I bought mine!
I saw that one too. Looks like a pretty fair deal. Finally someone on ebay with realistc expectations.
This little note in the terms bothers me: *Any NY buyer is responsible for inspection costs, and cost of making the vehicle pass the state inspection. I translate that to say "will not pass inspection" or "did not pass inspection and I am selling it now because of that". I wonder how the top looks/seals?
I'd say they are more than "realistic". The wholesale market for 348's is a couple of $$ grand more - at least according to the Manheim MMR Report. Especially for red. There is something more here that we don't know about. If the car were as good as described, they would flip it for more $$ in a heartbeat at the New York Manheim auction. But...there's always that chance that it truly is a great deal. I paid $42K for mine with a fairly recent 30K service, 38K miles on the clock, and haven't had any issues. So who knows?
If anyone out there is still looking for a 348, I have a nice TS up for sale here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/pp-classifieds/showproduct.php?product=160&sort=1&cat=2&page=1 All major service work recently (about 1,700 miles ago) completed. This is a good, straight car that must be sold within the next 30 days as I have a new car on order that should be coming in to the dealer in about that timeframe.
I don't know about you, but I get worried about a car listed in a thread titled : DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52539
Ha HA! Good work guys!!!! Now Mother Easter, or whatever the frick your name is, go find another website to troll.
Jdubbya - well spotted - thanks for pointing that out. Jerrari - I know your avatar is a chimp, but you seem more of a chump.
I was watching this and it looked great. Just in the market for a 328. Good luck and if you need some tech assistance just let me know and I will try to help. Bob5013
"Jerrari - I know your avatar is a chimp, but you seem more of a chump." Good one!! Regardless, you come on here with 7 posts and try to sell us your car? Put it on F ads where everyone else does.
If you'd bothered to look, you'd have noticed that it is already on F ads: http://www.ferrarichat.com/pp-classifieds/showproduct.php?product=160&sort=1&cat=2&page=1 Given the title of this thread, I thought my post was on topic. Anything else?
I started the other thread after the worst experience of my life purchasing this car back about 6-8 months ago. Definitely stay away from this one...Unfortunately, it looks like someone already bought it...If they pop up on Ferrari chat I will try to help them out with all the problems this car has.
If you try to pull the carfax on this car, it comes out clean (0 records) for that vin number, no history at all.
thats because the VIN number on the car doesnt match the title....one of the many problems with this car. When I bought it, it was unregisterable...the VIN was two digits off....
you either get extremely lucky, or just what you should expect ....buying a 348 for 42k.... ever heard ,-if it sounds too good to be true.....? unless of course you hear that your friends dad died and hes trying to sell his "red" sportscar, and has no idea what it is... IMO
Please see the related thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52539 For the truth...
hello, i'm looking at a 348 also. if you haven't seen it yet, i'd reccomend forza issue 30 (june 2001) they have a 348 buyers guide article. they reccomend late 1990 348's (october build with s/n 86406) or newer. ferrari updated the a/c, heating unit, replaced shift mechanism, and most notibly switched the bosch motronic 2.5 to a 2.7 and resolved the hot start problem. it's very informative. good luck. joe
