I've decided to try and find a new home for my Red/tan 355B. I can hardly believe the words I'm typing but it's been a fun time for almost 2 years and I'm looking for a change and to condense 4 cars to 3 also.

If anyones interested in trying to pry the keys from my still reluctant hand, here's a link to the ad on craigslist with some pics.

It looks very clean, but IMO you're gonna sit on it a while at $72,500. BTW, when was the last major done? Exhaust manifolds ever replaced?

I wish we could get a car as good as that for that kind of money in the UK - it would probably be closer to $100k here. :(

Regarding price, like with most things I'm willing to be negotiable. I do have the full service history from Ferrari of Beverly Hills and then Auto Gallery. Yes the Manifolds have been replaced.
The car had two former owners in Los Angeles, the first used it as a show car for his Auto company and the second was a Ferrari collector. Both owners pampered the car. Tillack has serviced the car whilst I've owned it, and I follow their recommendations.

    Thanks

So....when exactly was the last major performed? (Sorry, I had the same question that Jerrari had, but noticed that you mentioned you have all of the documentation but did not answer when the last major was performed)

    Thanks!

I'll look at the papers for the exact date but around the end of 05. Tillack have told me the belts will need to be done next year. I can take the car in before I hand it over to a new owner or factor it into the price if you want it done at your personal favorite shop.

Anyone seriously looking please PM me if interested.

As far as my wife knows, I'm only casually looking! LOL

Keep in mind the mileage consideration between now and the last major. If the car hasn't travelled many miles since then, it will be even more important for the major.

How long have you owned the car? Do you mind if I ask why you are selling it?

Have the valve guides been looked at/replaced? I thought in general that the '95~'98 cars were notorious for having the guide issues? (That's what I gathered from the multiple posts from F-chat regarding this issue).

    Good looking car though nonetheless.

Good point. But with the guides being one of the weak points in the entirety of the 355 engine, wouldn't it be prune to have them replaced whilst the engine is out for service? Even if just for a peace of mind. My understanding is that the cost of pulling out the engine to soley address the guides is a pretty expensive service call, so some have had it done during a major engine out service.

I'd thought to ask by chance if Mark might have or knows if the car had its guides replaced in the history of the cars maintence.

Mark I'll send you a PM on the side.

Yeah, even I have backed off some from this issue. My preference is for a new valve guide car or to factor in the probable price of a future valve guide replacement into the price. More important is those headers which WILL fail versus the guides which might. Oh yeah, then there's all that other little stuff in the car that can break - computers, ride control, power steering, F1 pump (if present) and so forth.

As for me, I'd take that car if I was in the market. But, um, I kind of have my hands full right now. :)

I've owned the car for two years almost and it's been a great ride. I am pasting my reply to someone else under this to provide a little more info. As to why I'm selling, I have 4 vehicles with 2 of them being 2 seater sports cars and a supercharged pickup. I really want to combine the 2 seaters into one (360 or 575) and replace the truck with a Range Rover as we are getting a Dog at Christmas. Bottom line is I love the 355 and am am not 100% conviced I'll be happy if it gets sold.

Here you go on the other stuff:
I bought the car from The Auto Gallery a Ferrari dealership and they told me that everything had been done to the car under warranty. I have a lot of paperwork for services and the headers were replaced and the car always serviced methodically. I had the car fully inspected by FX performance and it tested really well on the leakdown and compression test and got a clean bill of health and so I bought it. I was looking for a really clean car and saw about 12 cars prior to getting mine. Each of them looked used and you could tell they were made clean to sell. This car is a genuine car that has no stories and no accidents and the carfax is clean too. If you have seen other 355's and then look at this one you will see. Is it perfect, no but it's a really clean car that has never been tracked or abused. It has a great interior and the dash is perfect with no shrinking. The engine bay is clean and so is under the hood.

    Thanks

Have the Valve guides been replaced?

Has the clutch and problem bearing been replaced?

The condition will determine the price and you haven't told us much on condition, considering the 355 needed work.

Your price would make a 360 be a competitor.

I don't think his price is that high. I paid 65K for my 95 with higher miles (27K).

    Valve guides were done
    New headers
    New CV boots
Major done approx a year ago
    Fresh minor service
    Recent tires
    Tubi
    CH grill
    CH clutch cooler
    Cross-drilled brakes

I would have gladly paid more for a lower mileage car.

Yeah. A "good" 360 is well over 120K for a 2000 red/tan six speed (from my past research).

maybe you can convince the bargain shoppers out there of that fact! I'm selling a 1999 360 red/black Euro car with 43k miles, all records and people want me to give it to them. Highest offer thus far is $89K, not what I expected at all when buying it.

    Mark,

If you have your car photographed to show its true condition, you will sell it immediately.

Your car is the cleanest 355 I have seen, but your pics don't portray it as such.

    imho

    AZcarguy,

You might be seeing a penalty for the mileage. The cars in the 120s have less than 15K miles. I don't know if they are still around. I stopped searching when I bought the 355.

I'm going to drive my 355, miles be damned.

Honestly surprised you got an $89k offer for a high miles Euro car with an unusual color combo (not the classic red/tan). Good US 360s with sub 20k miles can be had for under 100k......
