Judging by the amount of fading on the print, I would say it is older than 2013.

If that row of numbers reads "230", that MAY indicate the 30th week of 1992, or 2002, or 2012, using the Dayco dating method.

Shoot. All I can see is the 182, maybe another digit, then RHD, then 230 (or 280).

The date code is far to the LEFT of the word Ferrari. With the current positioning of the belt on that side of the engine, the date will not be visible.

I would hesitate to make any assumptions about belt age based on the wear of the white letters. It could be a brand new belt that was installed with the top guides (shoes) too tight; the tension could be fricked; the WP bearing could be shot.... I feel that making a guess about belt age because of the white lettering is quite a stretch. Pun intended!

    Nader,

The arrow in this photo is pointing to the possible rub-point on your belt. There is a small belt "guide" with adjustable positioning located at this point.

Thanks, Daniel. The photo is rotated, so I should be able to advance the engine a bit farther past the Ferrari label to see the date code. I saw the guide shoe on the other side's pulley. There was .12 mm clearance between it and the belt as measured by my feeler gauge. Didn't check the any others, though.

I'll take another crack at it. The hardest part of getting to the belt was removing the over-torqued socket head screws that fastened on the cover. Felt a lot of anxiety about potentially breaking a screw in the removal process. I reinstalled them more gently than I found them, so it will only take a couple of minutes this time.

Ideally, I'd like to see a date code of 2010 or later for some piece of mind to drive the car a few more times before doing a major.

I'd suggest using anti-seize paste on the cover fasteners.

    Roger that on anti-seize.

I advanced the belt a bit more, and these are the only numbers I saw. Just 3 digits. 36th week of '07?
