All other things being equal (condition, 30K service, etc.), how much price difference should there be between a 40K miles 348 and a 20K miles 348? And what about the difference in a 20K miles car and a 10K miles car? Would it be fair to say that there is a $5K discount per 10,000 miles? More? Less?

In other words, all things being equal...

    10K miles - $55K
    20K miles - $50K
    30K miles - $45K
    40K miles - $40K

    ????

I'm not talking about anomalies where some guy somewhere paid $60K for a 40K miles 348, but rather the market norm.

    Opinions would be appreciated.

What a shame. The curve should be the other direction. More miles = more "sorted out" car.

Sadly, the 'plastic bubble' preservation and market values crowd doesn't agree with me.

Indeed - I have passed 45,000 miles on mine so as I've posted elsewhere I am probably best off to just drive it to 100,000 miles and then part it out....

I guess the numbers above are probably right-ish although it's gotta level out somewhere - would think spiders wouldn't dip to $40 grand but I would say that.

    Cheers

Color should be factored in there somewhere too.
a 20k car in red and a 20k car yellow, white or blue are priced pretty different.

    Also factor in interior wear.

Again...all other things (color, condition, 30K service, etc.) being EQUAL.

I think 50 cents per mile is a little steep for a 348. It should be more like 30 cents per mile in my mind. I would pay a $3k premium for a 10k car over a 20k car. I think the total value of the car limits the amount of depreciation per mile. 50 cents per mile is more like 355 depreciation, and 360's can be up to about $2 per mile.

Kevallino, I just passed the "magic" 50k mark in my 348 spider. At this rate I will have to pay someone to take the car!

Regarless of model, miles are worth more at the beginning. You will lose a lot more going from 10K miles to 20K than from 30K to 40K.

I would severely discount a car with even 10k track miles ;)
But seriously if the car has been on the track and shows it, I would stay away. A well kept occasional track car does not bother me, but I don't really know what I'm talking about as far as expected problems with a tracked car.

The most important thing I read is the 30k service or 5 years.
As long as that is done, there is no need to worry.
Just drive them and stop worrying about small things that can go wrong.

i would say the most premium car would be any car under 20 k with a fresh major service and great leakdown test result.
