We just returned from AZ. by way of TX and was amazed at the deer killed on the highway. We live in MI. (UP) and are known for white tail. Next season I am heading so. At one point there were 3 RKs in a few hundred feet and one even had the horns on. For what it is worth the weather was better from Xmas through new years here on Lake Superior than it was in Prescott, Az. Go figure. Lost

There are supposedly more car + deer collisions here in Texas than anywhere else in the US.

One of my friend's washed his 308 GTS and took it for a little drive while it was just getting dark, to dry it off. A deer ran onto the road and smacked right into the side of the car and then tumbled down the whole drivers side. The next day we attended the 599 GTB tour at the Alcoa factory and you could still see blood, slobber & hair all over the car. lol :)

The car is all better now.

Oh, and something I learned once. If you hit a deer and you need a tow because of the damage to the car, you have to file a police report first. I called two different tow trucks and the both said they couldn't tow me until I reported it to the police first. Then the third company, I just told them that I needed a tow and I didn't tell them why. I hit the deer in a '96 Taurus while accelerating hard and I was at about 75 when the impact happened. I didn't even have time to let off the gas, so the car just plowed right over the deer. The bumper popped right back out, so the only damage was a busted radiator hose & some paint flaking off from the bumper.

TM, I'll keep that in mind (hope it's not needed) because my daughter lives in Prescott and bringing down all the guns and bows we'll be doing some more drives. I am really looking forward to bow hunting the Havolina and Boar. cheers Lost

    My kids favorite joke:

What do you call a deer with no eyes?

    No eye deer.

What do you call a deer with no eyes and no legs?

    Still no eye deer.

It helps if you say it out loud, doesn't translate as well with the written word.

You can have all the wild boar/hogs you want on our ranch. They are a menace, are not native, destructive, and dangerous. They have begun to get mean and will try to run down small children. We always carry on our ranch. If you're a hog, on my ranch, and I see you you're going to have a very bad day.

The Smithsonian magazine had an article in it last month talking about hogs in Texas. Almost 1/2 of the population in the US is in our state.

This picture was taken by one of our game cameras. He is at least 350 pounds.

One of my friends from the academy who I helped get on with our sheriffs dept was on his way up to Marlin in his brand new Nissan Murano when a deer ran out infront of the vehicle in front of him. The vehicle hit the deer and it flipped over the top directly into my friends vehicle. Damage was minimum and only to the front spoiler area. I'm always on the lookout for them but that does not mean it could not happen.

Couple of weeks ago Ron had just finished repairing some dents in a BMW that were from a Deer when this guy showed up at the front door of the shop.
Were in the Medical Center. I have no idea where this beast could have come from or how far.
